Heres another one im working on. There were a few requests so i thought I might try it out. (Kabuki Klash was the competing insert - however - art is scarce for this one - so someone needs to help out)

Still needs the title and story, game mechanic blotter, etc. and overall layout may change (on back).

This is rough. Give me your thoughts as always.

Nice ideas you have there, but I was wondering how the text was going to sit?
Any early ideas on what you'd specifically like to have on the back?

Great start, though!

Right of the top of my head im thinking a 2-word title that would sit on the left and right side of the cross (inside). Down the center of the cross would be the storyline.

above the screenshots would be some information dealing with the game system or something but not intersecting the bottom half of the cross. So it would all have to sit outside of the cross area.

only thing inside is the title/story.

That's what I would've done.
Maybe to give yourself some extra space, though, you might want to move the middle graphic on the back down just a small amount.

Can't wait to see an update!

The caharacters on the back cover should'nt stretch of the page imo. leave a lil' room in between the edges so the back cover can be exposed on both sides.
Front cover is excellent.

Nice work :D BUT, I really dug the us aes cover. Any chance you could hook me up with one of those or hook me up with a high quality scan of the art work?

Well if the US aes cover was readily available and shared, then I wouldn't be trying to make one. All of the covers I have done were a result of the original AES not being available to me. I am lazy by nature so the less work I have to do, the better.

Yeah the cover is.
He said the us AES cover. So i took it as the entire cover is what hes after.

The front I have is the same art used in the US AES cart.

The front is perfect.

I like the idea for the back cover a lot.

Try something 'star wars op' styled text in the upper and lower parts of the back.

Heres a small update on this. Im trying to get the AES guys to help out with this by writing whats on the back cover of the original (getting a poor response at the moment).

There was a History FAQ that Ive been trying to get to but the database is down or something so ill put this on hold until i get what i am seeking to finish the back.

The space at the top is for the general story about the game series/ tournament. the WHITE text is specific to Matrimelee. (Color for this text is still tentative).

Instead of taking the logo onto the spine, i elected to replicate the "Matrimelee" text (like the AES version).

Also still need to add Game Features on the lower half of the back (above the screenshots).

I'd like to get this one out of the way by tomorrow so I can move on to other things.

Looking great as always. Is there any way to fill in some of that dead space between the middle graphic and the screen shots on the bottom (on the back)?

edit: yeah, game features would probably do the trick.

Why the change from the SNK/Playmore logo to the SNK/NEO-GEO? Just wondering. The cover looks awesome though.

I would just change the SNK-NG logo to the plain green/yellow Playmore logo.

The rest is simply perfect.

I posted a poll a little over a week ago to decide which logo would be used for the newer stuff.
