Magical Drop 2

I am sure many of you have completed Magical Drop 2, however I am having some difficulty:

Namely, the third stage in competitive mode, (I have the JP copy, and a JP system, so I have no idea what the technical name of this mode is, but it is the mode where you compete head to head against the CPU) against the devil guy.

For some reason, however well I do initially, he beats me terribly and I cannot progress past this point.

My question:

Does everyone have trouble with this level? (3rd - Devil guy)

Do you have any tips for beating him? Other than just moving faster?

i've beaten the devil but the only tactic is to get faster or just hope for some lucky chains.
that game is more tiring than a wank
