I mean, it looks like some people wants this game to be released in the fucking AES for 300$, or even plan on getting the MVS for a step price. That doesn't make sense at all. You should want a port to DC (as in fact this was going to be a Naomi game, so a DC port should be easy to do and in fact it would be SUPERIOR to the MVS one), or even to PSX (you don't even need PS2).
Who cares, as long as it makes it to my living roomNomax:
It looks like a f***ckin gr8 puzzle game! I hope it will make it outside Japan!!!
Lol, it doesn't upset me that you feel that SvC Chaos overshadows this title. By all means, SvC should. Pochi to Nya was and still has been officially announced as an MVS release. That doesn't mean that projects never get cancelled, but that it is not just a rumor like VektorLogics NeoSparks. This game was officially developed for the Naomi system, but was canned and turned into an MVS project awhile back (I really don't know why). Also the developer for this game filed for bankruptsy, and the distribution rights weere transfered to taito. The recent screenshots posted on page one of this thread are new and were revealed at the time of the Pochi to Nya Festival Report webpage (Updated less than a week ago). Pochi to Nya festival updateSuperGun:
Resoglas,
Here is my opinion if your interested. Also keep in mind that I am merely telling you how I feel and what I think about this game. Please don't get upset or anything.
Yes, I agree that there are more then enough fighters on the neo-geo system. And I agree that puzzlers, shooters, action/platformers, and even sports games tend to excite me more when they are announced rather then "another" fighting game.
However, I'm sorry, but in the case of snk versus capcom, I am actually very happy and filled with anticipation. This game is a dream come true for home system owners. We have been dreaming and waiting for this for over 10 years. No other release will over-shadow that!
Also yes I agree that I would love to buy this game for the mvs and will absolutely 100% for sure do so if they release it.
However, I am sorry but in my humble opinion, I have yet to see even ONE screenshot that even resembles neogeo hardware! All those pics look "dreamcast-ish" or I suppose (naomi-ish) The game is NOT officially "announced" by either Shawn (here on neo-geo.com) or Vinh (over on snk-capcom.com) It simply is not being marketed, advertized, discussed, nor shown in any manner even remotely similar to "normal" neo-geo games.
So to put it simply, I don't think this game is real. (as an mvs cartridge that is) Again, make no mistake, if I am proven wrong later down the line, hey great, not only will I admit it, but I will also be buying it. But until I see some "hard" evidence...such as mvs-looking screenshots, mvs cartridges with the legit side label, mvs kit pics, formal discussion and presentation of the game at this site by shawn or at the other by vinh...etc...I simply won't consider this game a legit MVS cartridge.
spock shame spock
Here is the e-mail I just recieved, I'll be sure to post the update as soon as I recieve the next e-mail:ResOGlas:
Edit/Update: I just made a few calls to Aiki and taito about the release. The man in head of distribution at taito said he would e-mail me regarding all info on this game. I look forward to posting the letter as soon as I recieve it. wink
Words of wisdom here, I agree 100%.Talen:
Meh, why pay a small fortune for a puzzle game just because of the hardware it's on? I doubt this will replace tetris attack, columns, PB4, or MD3 in my regular puzzle rotation. I can see the excitement if neo is the only system you have, but CvS and SSZ are drawing hype because vs. fighting is what the neo/snk is about. This game looks like a very minor tweak on something I've played twenty times before on saturn, ps, and F3. Maybe I'll grab the ps2 port, but I'm not really holding my breath for this one.
Ack! Hurry, hurry, hurry!ResOGlas:

Thanks for your e-mail. I will have to inquire with our sales team who
are all out of the office today. Tomorrow also seems like it will be a
busy day. I'll try to get you the necessary information inside of a
week, but if it is urgent, please let me know in advance.
Thanks.

Well Bobak, here's the e-mail I just recieved:Bobak:
I admit, like Billy Pitt, I've had a mild worry that this may not come out -but I lean towards believing it will.

Hmm........"Pochi to Nya-" was initially made by a company called Compile, which
subsequently went bankrupt. Aiky took over the rights and continued
distributing the game. The only distribution of the game that TAITO
ever did was to video game arcades around Japan (briefly) following last
year's Tokyo Game Show. However, we never had anything to do with
releasing it on any consoles, much less the Neo-Geo MVS, which has been
gone from Japan for quite some time now.
I don't know if you still got Neo-Geo MVS games selling in the U.S.
However, no company, much less TAITO, has ever distributed the game
overseas. Therefore, it is safe to assume that a Neo-Geo MVS version of
the game is unavailable at this time, anywhere.
My apologies for the bad news. If you really would like a copy of the
game, I suggest you take it up with Aiky as TAITO never really dealt
with it. Hope this helped in some way.
Sincerely,
Cyrus Sethna
