It seems like the later AES carts like SSV Special and KOF 2003 are harder to find and really high priced. How many of these actually sold at release and why so expensive?

Limited release, and based on some of the facebook group shit I've seen people in South America Like having doubles, one for the shelf and one for taking pictures of.

Actual numbers are hard to come by but some of the latter US AES titles sold in the hundreds rather than thousands.

Even smaller runs than normal for the later games I guess. Any of the releases towards the end of a system's life become the most expensive because the runs become smaller because the user base shrinks. More so in the case of an already small-user-base system.

Which, in an ironic way, escalates the numbers of incoming fanboyism towards this system. Can't ask for better advertising.
