I won a copy of R1 recently, I'm really looking forward to it's arrival!

Can someone provide me with a list of playable characters in the game?

This will aid my anticipation greatly!

Also, when playing black and white games on a colour neo-geo pocket, what is the preferred display colour to set system to for best visibility?

green is my favorite color. cant
admit to trying the other colors though.
r1 is great. its really kof 97
has stories and everything.
missing the usual characters that arent in r2
of course like the ikaris for one.
theres leona though (duh) since shes a part of the orochi story line.
shingo kyo iori chizura mai yuri athena terry ryo kim and the orochi team
then there are the unlockable chara.
all the orochi clan.
have fun though.

WOW! I have the game now, and I’m really impressed.

Black and white only makes no odds really, the game is still just as much fun to play as a colour title.

This game seems a little harder than R2, and Orochi is much cooler than Rugal.

There is an English option too, there was never any black and white releases in the European territory as far as I know, so does this mean you guys in the states got the black and white machine and games on official release?

No , the black and white system and games were only released in Jap town . How much did you pay for R1 cause I'm looking to get it ,

My R1 was £27 on an ebay UK auction, I may have paid a little too much but i got angry when someone tried to snipe me in the last 20 seconds...

Kof-r1 was released with an english box and manual
asian version I think,goti it at home

King of Fighters R-1 is great. It it much like KoF R-2 but then B&W (really?? ). I just received mine, its like a total port of KoF 97 (KoF 97 rocks!) But then format size and less characters. It looks like that the game is a bit faster then R-2, meaby its me, but with Kyo I can do combo's easier then in R-2. All in all I think there both matched up with each other. I always like the idea playing in the Orochi saga. This one is Orochi all the way. I haven't met the endboss since I just received the game, but Ill be playing it to death! The artwork is great! <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" />

P.S KoF R-1, SS1 for 5 pounds?! thats a damn good price, I got mine for $21.50... Not bad either tough
