sure,they share a good number of fighters


but that aside,
gameplay is radically different


ratio system,strikers,and permanent counter mode is enough to say kof 98 and kof 2001 arent the same

I think it should take one super bar level to use a Striker in KoF2002, so that you would have to earn a chance to use a Striker rather than having a certain amount of uses up front.

This would open up some decisions- for example, say you've chosen Yuri as your striker for the match. Do you call her out to give you back a bit of life, or do you instead use that super bar level for a Ryukoranbu?

For instance nothing official was said about a relatoin between KOF and the Crystal system!
In any cases, if it would become true one day I would be really happy!
I would even be more happy by knowing this is on the crystal system that this game is done! Indeed, Brezza soft is directly the link between what was SNK and what it would be if "true" SNK was still alive! Brezza soft got many SNK employees brezza soft was said to be the "new" SNK before playmore baught all the SNK's rights!
I support as much the Crystal system as the futur released on the MVS (AES) system.
But, we can't count on the MVS system forever! My only hope is to hear playmore saying the crystal system is the "MVS 2" the system where all the futur "SNK made" titles will be released.
Brezza is nearly everywhere in the development of the new titles we saw this last few months...
Brezza is the LINK with SNK! More than playmore is with his rights.
Playmore got the money, brezza got the brain, the snk's spirit.
Of course the first titles on the crystal sytem aren't so good even if there aren't so bad afterall! But it was the same thing with the first titles on the MVS! This is only the begining
and I hope not already the end. I'm waiting for a really good title just as SNK was used to do, to buy the crystal system, to support more than ever this system and to tranfert my passion to it.
The crystal system is closer to what would be the "MVS 2 " than what many people tend to think!

Just go to Naomi, easy ports to DC/PS2/Whatever. Better graphics doesn't mean better gameplay but it will attract more of the mainstream idiots who think that way. I love KOF the way it is now but we won't get many more of them if they're on a system that is emulated and pirated so easily. Not to mention even if it's not emulated then the games don't exctly grab attention of arcade gamers. So a move to a new platform w/ better GFX would do a lot for increasing revenue flow to Brezza/SNK/Playmore/Your mom/etc.....

But if they made it a 3D fighter I'd find the bastards in japan and kill them myself!

The crystal system is a 2D based system.
A powerful and cheap 2D based system.
So if KOF would appear on that system it would be a 2D game. Brezza is betting on the 2D technology than on the 3D and since the participated in the development of KOF2K1 they would probably do a great job on the crystal system.

Well its hard to let a console (or a arcade) run for 12 years!
Like other consoles, they are gonna make a new hardware in 5 years, en let the olders r.i.p.

Sometimes I don't understand the neo fans. Brezza, which the owner of the SNK spirit try to make the sucessor of the MVS and you are all trying to kill it before it birth. the title says"the future is now" and not "the future is like now".
