Yeah, a comprehensive list of all the combos found in this thread so far would be cool.
I'm working on the combo page at the mo. Guess I will have to Google for other move descr. arrows because the ones from Neo Encyclopedia are too big for a frameset optizimed for 1024x768, or should we use 800x600?
Guess the most difficult part will be the vids. For ex., could you record the Takuma combo you made pics of and turn it into a, say, mpeg?
And yeah, ppl, all help/contribution is welcome, post your combos, combo pics and vids!
To keep the thread growing, here are more combos, this time for Chin. The lil' fella is really a blast to play, except for the stiff feeling when trying to do standing/crouching A/B chains. If you play him right and keep your attacks unpredictable, Chin can be a nasty opponent... perhaps that's why some ppl always put him on their "worst chara" lists.
--Chin
standing D -> qcb+C (4 hits, standing D hits twice, you can also shorten the combo if you cancel the 2nd hit)
jumping C -> standing C -> qcb+A (4 hits, the jumping C hits twice, let both hits connect)
standing D -> dp+C (11 hits, a short'n'sweet combo)
jumping C -> qcfx2 +A (3 hits)
standing D -> d,d+C -> f+C (3 hits)
Of course Chin has longer combos as well, but I find it quite difficult to get his chains connected. Try this:
d+B -> standing B -> standing A
You have to have good timing with that. Chin also has a few double-jump combos. His normal jumps are not very high, so you can hold the stick uf or u and hit your opponent twice, like this:
jumping D -> jumping C
jumping A -> jumping A
etc.
After landing two crouching A's in a row, you do a f+A but Chin will not do his Drunken Walk command attack, instead he will deliver a third standing A hit that can be comboed:
crouching A -> crouching A -> f+A
Lastly, there are his Drunken Snoop moves that start with two quick down pushes of the stick. Chin has two of them:
down,down+K or P
A d,d+K lets Chin lay flat on the ground, after that you can do a up+B to let him strike forward for a two-hit attack, you can also slide backwards and forwards (useful against some projectiles). The d,d+P lets Chin go into a drunken stance, then you can do a f+A or C for a rush-in hit.
The only part I haven't quite figured out are Chin's cancel combos. He's one of the few charas in 98 that have this ability. I have a small Chin strategy faq that lists one of them:
standing D -> d,d+P -> C (tap rapidly), ABD -> d,d+P C (tap rapidly), ABD -> qcb+C
What I don't get here is the d,d+P -> C (tap rapidly) part. Normally, the d,d+P puts him into his drunken stance, but according to the faq, rapid tapping of C, followed with ABD (pressed and hold together?) should cancel the stance immediately into a standing C, followed by another cancel.
Does anyone know how to pull off these Chin cancels?
