May be able to pick up a Jpn PS3 for a good price localy. But need some clarification of the online situation before I do so as im rather puzzled and cant seem to find a striaght answer to this via Google etc..

While it would seem useing a UK Credit card for the US and HK PSN stores is possible this doesnt seem to be the case for the Japanese one, so my first qurstion is even with a japanese unit will i get the chance to select UK,US or HK regions on the PSN sign up process or will it be locked to japan only ?

Also how much of an effect is haveing a japanese PS3 in the UK going to have on online multiplayer support ?

Having a JPN unit is EXACTLY the same as having a UK one. You can setup an account for any region you choose.

My mocking of the PS3 has been mostly about the price ..£400 is alot to pay for a console. If i can get this for the price id like then the price issue becomes less of one.

And I was kinda hopeing the 360 Elite would solve some of the issues i had with the 360 but it would seem that it didnt .. oh and silly M$ have priced it stupidly.

Mocking the price of something you can't afford? isnt that just jealousy?
Anyway, I bought a JPN PS3 and I have no problems using it here in Australia. because it's exactly the same as every other unit except the region settings.

So the only difference would be that you can't play Australian blue ray movies?

ROFL, I paid £600 for my first AES in '91.

£400 for my second one in '94.
