Is my Garou MVS a BOOT?!

Here's what's fishy:

1) No NeoGeo splash screen on bootup
2) No Holo label.

Here what's good:
1) Transparent Cart, as it should be
2) boards have SNK NEO-PROGLBA, date, made in japan and all the crap written on them just like original carts.
3) NO EPROMS and all roms are soldered, not socketed.

Any ideas?

It's the only cart I have that doesnt show up the neogeo boot splash screen!

My cart wasn't in a transparent case, it was lime green as is most Garou carts.

Post some pics of the boards.

I wonder why the label isnt a holo label though... and why I dont get the bootup splash screen!

What region is it? As far as the label it looks as if your casing was switched out with something else so that would explain why the label isn't a holo.

Chris1, my boards inside the cart look exactly like yours!
Then it's not a boot.

One other thing to note is that not all Giga Shock games show the boot screen, or at least, that's been MY experience anyway.

Yeah, Metal Slug 3 doesn't for instance. If you let the title screen playthrough though, you'll get the Neo Geo gigashock thingy.

Yes it does, but all of the newer games by SNK did it after the first cycle through attracts. Sit back and wait and you will see it, this is one of the many issues with the Giga-Shock games (especially in a multi-slot)... If you have 2 or more slots and put in a Giga and a Mega game, the Mega will always load first no matter what the orientation is... etc,

I never noticed that before. I like the second intro though, kind of reminds me of the cowboy bebop one.

To add with the holographic label question, the Japanese Garou one doesn't have a holographic label does it?

Just as a note... mine has NO holo label... I had to break the safety seal to open the cart, it was never tampered with, it still has the original label...

Now I wonder if all these differences mean different revisions?

I had a loose JPN copy of Garou in a green case with no holo label. But the english kit I have now has a clear case, but I can't remember what kind of label it has, I'm away from home right now.

Here's my MOTW..

Zg.jpg

Here's another..

ZGg.jpg

I popped mine in the Candy cab today..
I wanted to see how it plays in different Uni Bios settings.

I did notice two different intro scenes but I didn't notice the Giga-Shock screen come up,because I only let it cycle through once.
I had to turn the cab off..
I never screwed the mother board down to the wood in the machine and when I pulled the board out a bit I snapped a clip off the Jamma harness..

The one for the left speaker (positive)
So instead of playing the game I decided to clean the whole inside of the cab and mount the mother board down to the wood..

I also had to change that broken clip and solder the wire on.
Now I made it so I can slide the board out easier..to change games..
Tomorrow I'm going to play the game and wait for the Giga-Shock screen come up....then I'm putting a small fan in the Candy..like the fans that are in the Power supplies.
There is a spot for it in the back..I wonder if it had one and it's missing..

...............
...............
EDIT)
I had the Candy running today and the Giga-Shock screen for MOTW came up on the second cycle around.
