My beef with the music was mainly that it all sounded almost the same. Some of the songs just seemed to be remixes of the attract mode music and the select screen.

I long for the days of pre-99 music. Or even bring back the WWIII track from '99.

And my idea for the final boss is Heidern. The dude is obviously evil--he always seems to be oddly involved in the tournaments where NESTS is concerned. Maybe Rugal was horning in on his turf?

say hendrix - when you were referring to new sprites, do you mean like all new animation sprites all accross the board, from scratch, for all the characters?

you know hendrix if that is the case, they are going to have to redraw all the animation cells and that'll also bump up the allocated DEV time quite significantly. i think they have lesser DEV staff and artists now compared to the old KoF DEV staff. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I agree, it would be nice for rick to come out expecially, but I look at it this way. Not adding any new characters makes way for refinements on characters from the last 2 installments of the series. If that will happen on not is up in the air.

I don't really count on seeing new characters given that 2002 is a Dream Match.

Gotta agree there, HeavyD! (dont forget the exlamation point) is a really good character. Sure he had an odd design, but he plays very well. Almost like an early Vanessa.

No new characters? What the fuck? Well... Technically, if they added Rick Strowd to KOF he wouldn't be a new character, he would just be new to KOF. New to KOF doesn't mean new character... Am I stretching it?

They fuckin' better update the sprites, cause if they just dig back and pull up old characters we could be in for the worst game ever.

Here's hoping I'm wrong.

I couldn't agree less with most people here. You want a friggin KOF 98 2. You want 3 on 3, no wire attack and no super cancel, no strikers, no ratio system and nothing else that's fresh.

KOF 2001 plays alot better then KOF 98 IMHO, and it's more up to date. The system allows all types of play.

I know, take all KOF characters and take the system back to the days of 94. Why would we want something new?

I can't understand you... =P

Yes but technically speaking those are not new characters, they are old Fatal Fury ones.

putting rick and co. in KOF , would techincally make them 'new' king of fighters chracters.
they haven't been in one before, so technically they are new.

Perhaps the redesigned graphics were born in 1999 or 2000... and since then snk have been creating the new stuff. Remember that KOF2001 don't have a lot of changes since 2000. They have more or less the same animations...

Yeah, but then i think there was some problem for Eolith taking over the series and there was a few new characters that are better animated then all the old ones (angel, k9999?, igniz).

Then the new system and super cancels and the wire attacks. KOF 2001 was a major overhaul in comparision to KOF 2000 for example.

I also think it bad news that there will be no new characters. I just stumbled over the old magic box preview and the art for those characters looks great IMHO.
