So I keep coming across all these fine looking arcade finds that people have or that people want so bad and I think to myself, "If I had the money, what would I REALLY REALLY want the most?" So I thought I'd want to hear what other people drool over and desire so greatly from the collections of others.

For me, I think purchase #1 would be:

Simply because it's got nostalgia and I know I could find reliable amounts of multiplayer out of this game.

That's pretty cool. It's things like that which make me want to find some way to make a multiplayer pacman cocktail cabinet that isn't that weird one that Namco put out the other year.

It wouldn't really be about money or rarity for me, just nostalgia. Main things that kind of money would provide are free time and space, both vital for an arcade.

I'd track down an original dedicated House of the Dead (inspired by DeadPixels) and the ubiquitous and memorable Mortal Kombat II without any wear on its Raiden sides. Thats's pretty much it, unless a nice Egret II popped up for versatile JAMMA gaming.

Almost had one last year for $100 with all original parts. Turned out that it had water damage and needed one side completely replaced. Just didn't have the time or patience to repair it. (Wife was pregnant)

Oh boy, for me, it would Megaman Power Battles 2, Tron, and X-Men: Children of the Atom (man, did I spend a lot of money on this one).

One day...one day...

I would use the money to build the building in my back yard to house my arcade. The fun of collecting is scoring the good deal and fixing up the non-working games. Simply throwing cash around to get the cabinets I want would take the fun out of it. I like when every piece in my collection has a unique story. I have 32 cabinets right now and 32 unique stories to tell.

A sit down cockpit Star Wars or a fully working Galaxy Force II. It's been way too long since I've played a working unit of it. If I had the disposable income I'd just buy property near FunSpot so I could go there and play the ones they have and give them money to keep their games working. I would give them the money they need to expand onto the 3rd floor. They've got a ton of empty space on the 3rd floor, but it's unfinished, it needs electricity, floors, heating and AC etc, so you can see how that adds up.

This man has the right idea. I am coming to the realization that the restoration, the pick, the deal, is what i love. Playing the cabs once finished is just icing on the cake. Nothing is greater than finding a good cheap game that has been neglected and bringing her back from the grave. That also goes for pinballs too. I picked up a Star Trek Next Gen pinball hidden in some lady's garage in which some idiot with a sawzall cut the headplates in an effort to tilt the head down... I payed 200 dollars because I was worried that the wiring loom was sliced and the machine might have been re-imported from italy...

Best score of my life, the machine is back together and since it sat for so long cut, the playfield is immaculate.

If I could have any cab I ever wanted, and had unlimited space to house it, I would take a Super Megalo 2 from Sega:

I saw a guy a few years ago on arcade-museum forums score one and attempt a resto.
