I need help with joystick sizing

So I got my push buttons and joy sicks in today and I was all set to get my 2 player control panel hooked up, turns out the joy sicks don't fit the control panel.

The ones I bought are Seimitsu LS-56-01, I tried my JLFs and they didn't fit either. I'm thinking my only options now are Seimitsu LS-32-01 or Seimitsu LS-40-01.

Would anyone be able to look at the pics and help me figure out which ones I need?

Have you tried a different mounting plate for Seimitsu joystick? Maybe something like this would work: http://www.lizardlick.com/Seimitsu-RE-Mounting-Plate_p_512.html

Yep they fit like a charm, I went ahead and ordered some LS-32-02 sticks and sure enough they didn't fit, popped on the plates and now I finally got the control panel set up.
