I just paid for my KOF 2001 from NCS today. Hopefully, I should be playing it Friday afternoon.

...and it finally got here! I've been playing it for 2 hours now, with no end in sight.

Me likes it, and I think it's just below KOF 98! If the backgrounds were KOF 96 - 97 quality, this would be even better than 98. Gameplay is spot on! If they can fix the background shortcomings for KOF 2002, HOOO WWHHEEE!!

I LLOOOVVEE this game.

The "Yuri Shun Go Satsu" is very nice

what do you think of the character art? Almost everyone said that it sucks.

I don't think so, I like the art so much, it's just different from the other KOFs....

So, what's your opinion on the art? If you can, rate it too....1 to 10...

Well, you weren't asking me, but about a 9. Joe's butt is uglier though (in his win picture, they gave back his mooning, but it's uglier because it looks so fake). It looks better than MotW to me

not that I care. i think joe shouldn't moon the opponent. It is funny, but what if all of a sudden they attacked and hit the kidneys? well, in real life, ouch. in that world, they can get hit anywhere and react by being knocked back and not doing real life stuff

KOF2K1 winning art and poses totally suck major donkey dicks. They are ugly and badly drawn. King is disfigured, Mai turned very ugly, Clark has the face of a horse, Chang is now dirty, shabby and utterly stupid... I could go on on that for long.

But gameplay is really good, although not as responsive and accurate as the KOF 98. Backgrounds are stupid -KOF 2K1 ads and banners everywhere... that's VERY aggravating because we KNOW, damn it, that we're playing KOF2K1...-, plus they don't "change" the way the former backgrounds used to -garden stage in KOF99, desert stage in KOF2K und so weiter-

A good game, yes, but I'll never spend any buck in it. I already played too much vs games and, strangely, I'm bored with it.

Usually, KOF games work in pair: the controls and the gameplay started to get really good in 96, then 98 came out and blasted every player, then 2K was released and offered speed, comboness to such an extent it was incredible to see and play... I'm sure 2K2 will be a major improvment, provided Eolith stays close to the SNK feel. Otherwise, KOF 2K2 will be a shite game.

ya know, forget what i said about joe (it's sick kinda). Mai and King did get uglier. Mai has blue hair in her out of game pic. And in the ending she looks like Cruella De Vil (or Ville, whatever
