Nicotine is the easiest guy to win on Lvl 8 with. He has an infinite. Gen-An has a similar infinite, but it's a little harder to connect with. Ukyo - he has some of the best combos and strategies in the game. Way too versatile. Same goes for Charlotte and Kyoshiro - they're too easy to play with. Especially charlotte. And Jubei plays like a Shoto, so he's no big deal (though he's my favorite character with the sword catch). Beat the game on lvl 8 with Genjuro or Wan-Fu. That's a test of skill. Both characters are excellent, but not really versatile.

I still haven't beaten Kuroko either. He's nuts.

Saying a character in SS2 is easy to play because they have an infinite is just silly. Nicotine is one of the more weaker characters in SS2 overall, and on Level 8 his flaws do show. He's one of my favorite characters of SS2 (next to Cham Cham), but his battle in in SS2 on the hardest level is not an easy one.

just try it then, on level 8. Try to win with nicotine, revolving your strategy around the infinite. You will win 9 times out of ten.

Heh...
It's a silly debate... infinites do not make a character better or worse in a lineup. That's the same as saying that since Sakura & Dan in MvC2 have infinites, if you focus your strategies on this you will also win 9 times out of 10. Or saying that if you focus on Kevin Ryan's infinite in MOTW that you will win the majority of your matches.

It really makes no sense... maybe you're able to do so, but others aren't. Besides, most infinites are considered "questionable" gameplay, and are banned in most tournaments. Why practice something that you wouldn't even want to use in regular competition?

Perhaps I shouldn't intrude, but... I do believe the subject was finishing Samurai Shodown II on Level-8 difficulty? i.e. against the CPU. Why are you bringing up Vs. play and tournaments? It has nothing to do with how cheap a character is in Vs. play, it's about using an infinite to exploit the AI.

Yeah!! BBH has a point VinylBoy. The whole issue is the ability to beat it on Level 8 with a particular character and NOT HOW you accomplish beating the game. So talking about what is legal and illegal in tournament play is really sidetracking the issue.

I can kick just about anyone's ass with Cham Cham... most of the time the computer (or opponent) doesn't block before I rip off a Mura Pakupaku, and the down time for the move is really low, so you can do it alot without consequence. Me likey Cham Cham very muchly. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
