In CvS1 many people believed EX Yamazaki to be the best Ratio 3 and EX Vega is the worst

In Pro Normal Rugal was often reffered to as the new Best Ratio 3 and EX Geese was the worst..

and Now in CvS2 The previous 12 ratio 3's (normal and EX's) were broken down to 6 and Sagat is reported to be the top dog in this one so do you agree... disagree?

IMO it would go like this

against the Rest
1. Sagat
2. M.Bison
3. Rugal
4. Vega
5. Yamazaki
6. Geese

against Each other (only a ratio 3 rumble)
1. Bison
2. Sagat
3. Vega
4. Rugal
5. Geese
6. Yamazaki

so what do you think is on top and who is the weakest link..?

According to Devil Lee
Didn't we have this thread before? I think you have it about Right, with Rugal and M.Bison tied for second, Yamazaki third, Vega fourth, and Geese last. I still think Yamazaki has a great s.roundhouse which puts him above Geese. Geese is most likely the worst out of the R3s. He doesn't suck though.

According to booda
Geese does have some pretty hefty advantages. I think any weaknesses in him were to keep him from utterly dominating. But I still think he should be higher on the list.

Of course, I totally agree with Sagat being at the top.

According to Hero
Overall, all the Ratio 3 characters are better off, mainly because they are now 'flexible' with ratio adjustments. As far as advantages/disadvantages go as characters, I'd say Sagat, Yamazaki, Rugal, Vega, Bison, then Geese. Sagat is just mean: he has all his EX Supers, regular supers, and regular motions for specials. Though it feels like his Tiger Shot has been slowed down :/

According to Mummy-B
I have seen a really, really good Balrog (Vega) when I was back home. I think alot of the Ratio 3's tie for places after seeing some of the stuff people do with them:

1: Sagat/Vega(M.Bison)
2: Rugal/Yamazaki
3: Balrog/Geese

Aside from Sagat and Vega, I think (2) and (3) are very very similar in certain respects. Sagat and Vega are known to be major pestilences, even in CvS they were, but they were Ratio 3. Now, they're BETTER and they're whatever the hell Ratio you want them to be. Rugal and Yamazaki I believe are overall outclassed by Sagat & Vega, but not so outclassed that they do not have a chance at winning. Rugal and Yamazaki kinda have the same style, on the most basic level (zone for a while, get in and rape you, repeat). They're also those guys that you have to get really familiar with and know inside and out before they are a really dangerous threat. Balrog and Geese are not at the bottom because they're not as good: They are there simply because people don't particularly know how to use them. In the right hands, these guys are both ridiculous - my friend played Geese in CvS for fun and he was damn good at him. The R1 Balrog I fought against was NASTY. I don't know who he was, but I completely underestimated Balrog's ability and lost my R1 Hibiki quickly.

That's what I think. Comments? Questions? Flames (woo hoo! )?

According to Voodoo
After running a local 42 person CvS2 tournament, I can tell you that "ex-ratio 3s" might go something like:

1) Sagat - seems like everyone used him at one point or another.
2) Bison/Yamizaki - a toss up, bison is rushdown, yamizaki is poke/keepaway.
3) Rugal - Decent stuff from him, played more like a keepaway character.
4) Vega/Geese - I think only a single person used each of these guys, but they were effective when they did. Geese has good pressure and counters, and Vega is fast enough that it's hard to keep him off you.

According to EDDIE WILLIAMS
from my experience using geese, he's an overall character with not alot of weaknesses. same with sagat and vega(bison u.s.). imo geese is a real threat to the other former r3's when he has a level 3 super charged. Sagat loses his tiger shot mix ups because of the deadly rage and vega can't get any crossovers in because of the raging storm. So you can save the super and start some pressure when they start turtling. Geese's new CROSSUP move adds new openings for pressure and comboing his supers easier. Not saying geese is the best but not as bad as most people think. He's one of my main characters...

What are yours..

sagat is definatly better this time with his multi-hit uppercut.vega(claw guy) has also been improved a bit.the most improvement to a R3 fighter goes to sagat.

M.bison is also better with his awesome looking psycho crusher super and the teleport.

Geese (in my opinion) should definitely be higher on the list, since his counters can pretty much stop any move, including supers.

His major strengths are demonstrated as long as the person using him is good at predicting his or her opponent's next move. If you know if they're going to make an aerial or ground attack, you can retaliate with a counter and put them in their place. Pretty much like the "prelude" to a parry.

In the right hands, Geese is a nightmare. I'm waiting for the day that a real Geese user steps up and starts to dominate. In K/P Groove, he could literally be a monster. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Almost all of the former ratio three characters besides Vega I have to say have been improved. Espiecally Sagat since he has his pokes back plus his multiple hit DP. Rugal is also strong in CvS2 since he has very good juggles after his God Press. Geese's high counter will snuff out all physical supers. Even Shin Gouki's DFA level three and God Rugals stab level three supers are counterable with Geese's high counter.

So far I have to go with Sagat and M.Bison as the strongest former ratio three characters in CvS2.

Well could you do your votes by numbers 1 to 6 for example

Mine would be

1. Sagat: One tough dominator
2. M.Bison: Rushdown master
3. Rugal: weaker version of Sagat
4. Yamazaki: Master of Stagger but not as improved
5. Vega: can still be turtled
6. Geese: all the rest improved much more than he did..

I'm doing a ranking chart and compiling it

for example in this thread.. http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?s=d906d34265bdf8d21a6c7609f7f08a44&threadid=44389&perpage=25&pagenumber=1

Sagat

number1: 6 votes
number2: 0 votes
number3: 0 votes
number4: 0 votes
number5: o votes
number 6 0 votes

here's the grading system

Number1: 6 points
number2: 5 points
number3: 4 points
number4: 3 points
number5: 2 points
number6: 1 point

and currently Sagat has 36 points!!

(please don't be biased in voting)

In my opinion,

1. Bison (barely)
2. Sagat
3. Yamazaki (barely)
4. Vega
5/6. Rugal/Geese (flip a coin)

Rugal and Geese are not bad or anything, it just takes more work and skill to win with them than with the others.

Bison gets the number 1 slot because lvl 3 Psycho Crusher is too useful. Counters everything.

Yamazaki gets 3 because Vega's shit gets knocked off too quickly, and Vega without his claw is at a major disadvantage.

BTW here are some comments from F-net

from Deathscythe:

hmmm.....well, Sagat may be the best, but it all depends how you apply your character in battle. anyone can own with Bison due to his rushdown priority. anybody can own with Yamazaki due to his high defense on any groove and his ground priority.

i think Sagat is not really the top dog of the once ratio 3 characters in CvS1. plus, Rugal has a mean trap game with his Dark Barrier(QCF+P in air) and he has some devastating combos that can really hurt a character.

so to sum this up, any one of those characters can be deadly.

From LordLocke

Well, tops is easially Sagat. No 2 is either Rugal or Bison, and then it goes Yamazaki, Vega, Geese, IMO.

From Deathscythe again

i think Bison is second though due to his speed. Rugal is more of a keepaway character that needs just one super to hand your ass to you. plus, he has that Dark Barrier trap to keep you pinned. but then again, i think its a draw for Second between Rugal and Bison.

So currently

number1 votes: Sagat (3 votes)
number2 votes: Bison (3 votes) Rugal (2 votes)
number3 votes: Rugal (1 vote) mine
Vega and Yamazaki are just interchanging between numbers 4 and 5 in the many sites I've posted this topic on
number6 votes: Geese (2 votes) However Geese seems to be voted off to number 6 MUCH TOO OFTEN (even if he can be good)

so the Top three currently there are
1. Sagat (18 points): 3 number 3 votes
2. Bison (15 points): 3 number 2 votes
3. Rugal (14 points): 2 number 2 votes and 1 number 3 vote

currently the lowest Tier is Geese (again) with 2 number 6 votes (2 points)

Now it brings me to the question of a balance between yamazaki and Vega, since I also think they are very matched, Yamazaki's range compliments Vega's speed of again putting pressure back into Yamazaki in a momentum fight of who can keep up with who (Vega's penetration of Yamazaki's range and Yama's resistance to vega's speed)

I think Geese should be up there, he is good, but you gotta really work with him, but it is still possible to win..Maybe if he had his throw super from Neo Geo Pocket, it would add yet another move to his move list, and put him up there...I mean, Geese's gameplay is just the way his persona is..powerful, defesive, calculating, you gotta know what to do and when to do it...You can't just counter everything, you have to mix it up. All I know is, if you do a physical super that isn't immediatly close to Geese, you're eating a high counter. "Ha!Too easy!!"
That's my two cents

Let's C...

All are US names..

1. Sagat
2. Yamazaki
3. Bison
4. Rugal
5. Geese
6. Vega

Sagat is slow as fuck, but he's got mad cool fireball traps and reach priority. His Multi-hit dragonpunches are devastating when you work them into combos.

Yamazaki, lack of fireballs and poor jump kicks aside, will mix it up. His attacks are unconventional and unpredictable. F. Ball reflector is a good deterrant for f. ball fighters.

Bison.. All has been said. Rushdown dominator.

Rugal suffers from some of the same quirky J. kick angles as Yama, but has a great fireball reflector and some decent moves.

As far as Geese and Vega go, you have to know what they're all about to make them work.

IMHO.
