How many homecarts have been sacrificed for making conversion?

As you may know, AES conversion was popular for several expensive AES titles and MVS released only games. Just wonder which AES carts were used most for the conversion? (My guess is SS2 and FF3) and how many carts have been killed/sacrificed?

According to my latest spreadsheet as of 04/23/10 the number is 1,848. The top three on the list include:

1) NGF - 573 units (including Zupapa official production run)
2) Neotropolis - 281 units (authentic Kizuna sales not included)
3) Ray Young - 177 units (of which 165 are yet to be delivered to the Neo Store)

Some of the other notables are:

30) Wolf - 5 identical copies of Brikinger to store in Wally Stevens' apartment
...
84) 8Man - 2 units, one each for his daughters to go alongside authentic Metal Slug collection
...
87) TonK - 2 units destroyed with Glock (I was present for said occurrence and participated in .75 unit destruction)
...
165) Kenny Perry Jr - 1 unit produced for the good of the community

As far as we know, Ray Young could still be pumping out boot-conversions.

I killed one in the 90's so Kitkit could have a MS conversion a decade later.

For the record it was a NOS Samurai Spirits 2.

wow! you have a detail database on the conversion!

About Ray young's conversion, he should use the reproduction PCB but not killing the aes carts? I saw some photos of strikers 1945 plus a long time ago and the PCB is grey in color.

How about the Singapore seller on ebay? I guess they have produced more than 300 games?

And do you have further information on authentic Kizuna sale by Neotropolis? It seems interesting to me.

Did you read what he quoted?

Sounds like the latter. But if the cart is LoSJ, that would already be garbage. A few more holes and extra lead won't change it into something else.

I've always read Fatal Fury 3 has been widespreadly used for conversions.

But others as Samurai 2, Sengoku 3/2001, etc., have been killed too.

I guess the most cheapest game potentially useable by a skilled person for a specific conversion, could have been killed.

The number? A big one for sure.

Cgame, Ray Young, NGF, NG DEV TEAM, French conversions, particular conversions... there's a long list here.

NOTE: Regarding the NGF ZUPAPA conversion, it really was an OFFICIAL AES release (even being a conversion)?

I've read them (NGF) claiming that IT WAS, showing some pictures of papers in japanese suposedly granting them the rights to do that, but...

It's not a conversion per se, but the recent Ironclad Wii release also had its fair share of homecarts sacced for the shells.
