How far can you get in MSX without getting hit?

I can get to mission 4 with one life, about 2 million points then I always got owned by the fucker (stage 4 boss)

I have this strategy for the Mission 4 boss..
His most important weapon is the cannon of course. What I do, is, I stand
in the middle of the screen, since he shoots wherever you stand... Right before
he shoots to the middle I move forward, then go back up to the middle again,
and let him shoot the middle again, and then move forward and so on. If you
move around too much, chances he will get you, as his cannon tends to get
faster, and you have to get used to the timing. Hope that helps, and hopefully
it made sense.

Another tip, please remember the scuba diver looking soldiers that come out
of the wells as well. As you know, they use turpedos after they jump up of the
wells...You can just stand there and shoot them, until no more come out, that
should give you some points as well.

I never managed to reach it still in the tank, so I basically start dropping bombs to it and being killed.....
so i wait for hostage dropping me some weapons
I also tried that famous trick on jumping on one of those towers so It can't hit me, but i do it not with perfect timing so useless

Mission 5 on mvs level

I usually hit stage 4 on normal without dying, collecting all hostages/bonuses on previous stages.

I got the strategy for stage 4 all down but it doesnt work 100% yet. Is around 850,000 a good score on that stage alone?

I managed to get all the way to stg 6 without dying today.

Ended up with a score of 4,828,230. Too bad the old MSX highscore thread doesnt seem to get updated..
