Always wondered how some people came up with their SNs. So lets hear it.

Dan= Dan from Street Fighter Alpha, also the Spanish name for Adam is Adan.
Adam= My first name
KOF= King of Fighters

Sort of obnoxious, but I don't exactly have the best track record for making awesome screen names (why hello there AIM name and email address I made in the third grade and still use).

Back in 2000/2001 I was wanting to get intoo eBay selling and needed a SN, so I was going to use the name I was given in my Japanese class, which was Atsushi (meaning "gentleman", I guess the girls in the class thought I was nice :p ). Well, Atsushi was already taken on eBay, so I added ki (meaning "tree" in Japanese) on the front of it and the rest is history. I've been using the same name on other websites ever since.

For some reason my friend and I always called Tingle in the Majora's Mask stage of SSBM Weevus.

Side note: upon googling Weevus, I'm the #1 result.:tickled:

I am a bassist...I have very long skinny fingers and used to have my hair done and look very close to this
jaco1.jpg

so my band mates started calling me Pas (shortened version of Pastorius)...which I loved being that he is one of my bigest inspirations...so I kept it.

Mine is actually when I was first registering for a forum and I was watching kickboxer at the time. JCVD's trainer's name is Xian Xiao(pronounced Chun Chow), so I just took part of it.

On other forums I go by NeverBX, got the idea after seeing a sexy chick in a beamer with the license plate LUV2BEX. Took me like a week to figure it out.

Figure out what that says and you'll know what mine says.

When I logged onto this site long ago, I was soooo into Cowboy Bebop, and thought Spike was a bad mother fucker. Still do.

Well these day's I've come full circle (meaning back to my original Internet SN from 1997) of Ultimate Destroyer Rastan, but shortened to RASTAN when it's not already taken, and Michael Rastan is my pen name. That said in these parts I'm under my original screen name of Stormrider_2977, but would seriously prefer to have the SN consolidated as RASTAN here like everywhere else.

For what it's worth though. In May of 2002 I took on the name StormRider which had a (2) part definition in it's origin. The 1st is in reference to the cowboys of old who lived by the seat of their pants and were vagabonds, working and killing and whatever as they went along. They literally rode out all of the storms out in the open. For me I adopted it to meaning that I was a modern day cowboy riding out the physical as well as emotional and spiritual "storms" life throws at me.
The 2nd definition was in reference to a 3-Part Post Nuclear Apocalpyse Action Novel series called "StormRider" by author Robert Baron, that I was and am still a fan of to this day. It was early 90s schlock, but entertaining none the less.

The 2977 part of the SN was in reference to the year that Captain Harlock took on the Mazone Empire in the original 1978 animated TV Show, only later to discover that ZIV International who had horribly dubbed the series for American TV had gotten the year wrong, but it stuck. Thus my screen name is a rough translation of "Wandering Psycho Cowboy of the Apocalypse of the year 2977"

...YEAH, a lot of meaning goes behind all of my screen names, usually having something to do with how I feel at the moment, and drawing upon multiple areas of interest. On these boards I have also been known as the following...

MegaDrive 20XX (Not to be confused with the guy over @ Digit Press who doesn't have a space between Drive and 20XX)

Mercenary X99
Grizzly King (this nick spawning unwarranted bullshit even after explaining the origins of a 1918 novel about the actual Grizzly Bear animal, that was the source material for the 1987 film "The Bear")

...and after that drama/bullshit, Wasabi changed my nick back to my original handle of Stormrider_2977. ***It should be noted however, that those weren't name changes but rather whole new accounts that had been made after informing the mods that I had abandoned the previous ones. Only after the "Grizzly King Drama of 2006" did a name change actually get made. ***

AND THE REST IS LEGEND.

Sincerely... U.D. RASTAN
{Michael Rastan}

Orochi - I was loving KOF at the time
Eddie - my most played character in Guilty Gear XX during the time as well.

I generally not go by SNKZato1 the sort of mirrored version of this SN. I have a tendency to not find a SN I really like for very long.

Zenigata - A character from the old anime series Lupin the Third, and who I use for my avatar

Zeromus - The main villain from Final Fantasy IV

Put 'em together, and you get Zenimus. Originally I created the name for a character in a story I had to write for a class, but then I found myself using it for all things online... :loco: :D

Merc... er Stormrider, dunno if you watch Conan (Late Night, not the Barbarian) but the other night David Duchovny was on and he asked about Andy Richter and explained that his young daughter had been doing a report for school about bears. Anyways, he was joking with Conzy about how he looked on his computer and saw the latest search engine results and since she was researching "bears", about the 5th search result down was a link to gay porn having to do with that subculture (as Duchovny explained) about hairy gay men. He was hoping she didn't click that link, anyways back to Andy Richter, he explained how chubby men without much hair are referred to as "bear cubs". lol, thought that was funny, you mentioning the "grizzly king" fiasco made me think of that. Ya know I always thought the same thing (the gay bear porn), but I don't think I called ya out on it. Oh well, this is n-g.com so I guess it's all in good fun anyways, right?

Eric likes to take it too far I guess. But you can't get too pissed about some douche on the internet the way I see it.
