I think Hanzo was the one in the IRC chat room a long time ago talking about modding a Genesis 1 into a Supergun.

I would highly reccomend searching the tech section of these boards for the term supergun or the like. There are a ton of posts dealing with how to make a supergun, as well as many great links within the posts. The site mainman listed seems to be a nice one, but i would also reccomend checking outthis oneand here

VERY easy for one in electronics. Ifd you do NOt have a knowledge of electronics, find someone who does.

NEEDED:
1 JAMMA harness
1 video game power supply (do NOT use a computer power supply as the power resets and checks will render it inoperable). The power supply should give out +5 volts at least 10 amps, +12 volts at 2 amps, and -5 volts at 1 amp (not truly required)
1 control panel, buttons, controls, whatever.
1 isolation transformer for the power supply (safety reasons)
1 RGB monitor or RGB to NTSC converter

MAKE SURE you get a diagram for wiring up thbe JAMMA harness. The power suply should go through tghe isolation transformer and be fused and power siwtched AND GROUNDED PROPERLY. (electronic technician for this one).
The control switches are wired common ground.
The TV outputs go to a monitor. The MVS system is standard resolution, so an Amiga or Apple ][ GS monitor will work perfectly. DO NOT use an IBM vga or other scan monitor!!!! If you get an RGB to NTSC convertor, that will alleviate the need for the monitor.

Good luck
PS: a great place to get most of the items is www.eldoradogames.com

For those that want to make their own Supergun type of device and don't have the means to make the video encoder, you can always pick up the one from www.jrok.com - he has a very nice one. Last time I checked, it was around $70.

Thansk for all the advice. Jhendrix sent my a very informative e-mail(thanks agian). But now i'm left with quite the choice. I've found a local arcade dealor whom will sell me a 1 slot 19 inch mvs cab with a game of choice(sez he has a very large selection) for $495 or I could build my own supergun. Jhandrix how much did it cost total to make your supergun including motherboard?

Sowhat do you think build my own supergun or buy the mvs cab?

thanks
