So on Monday night my dad and I went to the casino since it was both the 4th anniversary of my mom passing away (still miss her!) and my dad's birthday (they're no longer happy for him) but the casino gave him a nice bonus for it. The past few Monday nights they have been giving away one of those Phat Scooters:



Dad was playing and the line was forming at the kiosks so I watched his game as he went in line. Scan your card, choose one of three scratchers and win bonus play or D-backs grub or the scooter. He came back with $5. So when he returned, I asked him should I go ahead and scan my card. So at the last moment I did...after watching the three ahead of me pick the middle and winning small change, I picked the right scratcher.

I WON!!!

I didn't take the scooter. I couldn't see myself riding around on it and all that so I opted out of it and took the $2000 bonus play, which I have a week to use. (at least with it given as a bonus instead of cash, unless I win $1200 with it as once, it's not taxable).

Gave my dad $300 of the $1000 I'd already one, treated him to dinner and said mom was guiding me to the win so that we can give my dad a happy birthday. My biggest win at the casino ever

My biggest prize win was 1996, it was one of those NBA playoff gatorade promotions where if you get the correct NBA final results in your bottle cap you win prizes. Of course one of my bottle cap had The Bulls beating my Sonics in game 6 in the finals. I ended up getting a Gatorade Duffle Bag, nba headband, gatorade bottle, towel, and i think 8 or maybe more powdered gatorade. Looking back at it now, Gatorade is one cheap sumabitch. The odds of getting the correct nba teams in the NBA Final and have to win in a certain game does not reflect the appropriate prize.

The only time I've ever won anything was at a raffle held in a very small movie theatre (that was built in 1933). They did a screening of a documentary on a defunct record label. After the film ended, they called my number. I was sitting in the back and once I processed that I had the correct number on my ticket, someone sitting toward the front stood up out of his seat. His pants fell down and exposed 80% of his bare ass. He must have realized he didn't have the right number once he sat down.

Last prize I ever earned was a Samsung 29'' LCD tv a good 10 years ago in a raffle after buying a Sony CyberShot, and I still use it to this day despite it being 720p native and not having a digital TV tuner built-in. I refuse to buy a new one until the TV dies like a dummy, because I'm attached to it lol. That TV and a free roasted chicken in a random bingo were the only prizes I've ever earned but it's ok.

I've won pinballs and video arcade cabinets and similar things in the past but the big different of course is I won those with skill. The day prior to winning the scooter contest I won 530 free games on a slot ($240) and the most I've ever won prior was a $500 progressive. I go to the casinos once or twice a week however usually take no more than $40-$50 at a time and play 7 and 10 cent slots. People laugh at me for not playing all the lines until I pull off a $80 win on a 10 cent bet

The first pinball I won was an old mechanical western themed one that I can't remember the name to. The others were a Williams' Tri-Zone and Sorcerer. Video cabinets I either won or inherited from a closing arcade were Ms. Pac-Man, Satan's Hollow, Firefox, Centipede and a couple others I can't remember. Of course nowadays I wish I hung on to most of them, especially the Satan's Hollow and Firefox. My go-to game in contests and tournaments was the Williams' classic Sinistar.
