Help with CPS1 conversion

I've had this SF1 cab (normal CP, not the pressure sensitive pads) for awhile now, and the game sucks hard. I want to put in CE or Hyper and need some help. Is SF1 JAMMA? I know it isnt CPS. Would I need anything other than a new game board? Finally, do CPS1 games have a suicide battery? Thanks.

Depends on the game. As you will read, some later generation CPS1 games did have a suicide battery. Most did not.

Thanks guys, one last thing. jammaboards.com lists a SF2 kick harness needed for the extra buttons. SF1 has the same amount of buttons, does that mean it already has that harness?

Yes. The same harness will work on a SF1 as a SF2 though the pinout may be different (been awhile since I've worked on a SF1).
