I recently purchased a neo geo stick 3 for the PS2, and am in the process of modding it, including button swaps. Even though I can't seem to find any info specific to this version of the stick, I assumed it would be similar enough to the AES sticks. I have screw Seimitsu 24 mm buttons I want to put in and was planning to remove the board for the buttons, but have run into a problem.
It seems that bc this stick has the extra L and R buttons the dualshock has, the board has those 4 specific buttons soldered (not sure of the technical term) into the board instead of running a wire like it does for the start/select buttons and stick. I obviously can't replace those with another button type, but I also can't even remove the metal casing on the board due to how the buttons are attached. How would I go about just replacacing the ABCD buttons? below are some pictures of what I'm talking of.
