I'm a huge horror movie fan myself, infact I've got a rather large collection of rare films that most have never even heard of. For those who are hard-core into horror movies, I'd suggest checking out Midnight Video. They have a large selection of hard to find horror and exploitation films, some that should not be missed.

People, check out Jungle Holocaust and Cannibal Holocaust. These two films kick ass! They are top notch cannibal movies that will turn your stomach inside out. Both of these movies were made by the great Italian director Ruggero Deodato.

Manitou - about this evil shaman. girl gets pregnant and grows a hunchback and the shaman monster busts out of her hunchback. pretty wicked b-movie stuff.

Squirm - a shitload of worms attack a small town, really nast y shit. they've got a whole bunch of scenes where the worms burrow into peoples skins and even this guys face. haven't seen it in like....15 years or so.

Yeah I Spit on your Grave is fucked up. Carnival of Souls is also a great movie, one of my favorite horror flicks.

A great low budget pick of mine is Let Sleeping Corpses Lie. A very kick ass zombie movie, and the DVD is nice.

Or Susperia is fun.

Squirm sounds good. I always been a proponent of "when animals attack" horror flicks.

Anyone see that movie -- geez I think it was called "Slugs"? Maybe "Snailz"? Don't remember the exact name of it... I never got to saw it, how was it?

Also, anyone can comment on these:

-New York Ripper (so violent I heard it got banned)

-Hardgore (some ultra violent meets porn flick)

-The Burning

I didn't care for squirm at all. The cheese level was like way above the meter for me. it was funny as hell when it was on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

"NOW YOU GONNA BE DA WORM FACE!!"

who here has seen "976 Evil"? That movie was awesome. It had The guy who played Evil Ed from Fright Night as the main Characters. he'd call this number "976 Evil" to talk with a guy named Dark Mark or Mark Dark and everytime he'd call him he'd start taking on slight characteristics of a demon until he almost became a full blown monster. Badass.

one of my favorites has gotta be: the warning

about an alien who lives in the forest who throws there little sucker things into humans - which kill them

Jack palance stars in it

One splatterfest everybody should check out is Make Them Die Slowly. Disturbing is an understatement for this movie. You'll see some crazy shit in this that'll stay with you for years, no lie.

Another sort of B-movie I like is The Kindred. A forgetable story but with some really snazzy special effects, Rod Stieger playing an evil old doctor (plays it to the tee), and a really awesome scene with a sexy barefoot girl driving a car and then being attacked by a tentacle monster.

I have always been a big fan of b horror.

Children shouldent Play with Dead Things - Great one of the few movies where the bad guys win.

Return of the Living Dead - Perfect mix of Horror and comedy

Return of the Aliens Deadly Spawn - Almost the same as above except that I don't think that I was supposed to laugh.

Alsmost and Jeffory Combs/Lovecraftian flick. This includes all the Yakuza flicks that he made and even some of the crap for full moon entertainment. I am still pissed that Combs was not in Dagon

Nightbreed - Huge props in my book, but I am not sure if that is a "b" movie.

I was never really big into the "slasher" style of horror and then Scream really turned me off to it, but if you are reading this thread then I have to recomend that you see Jason X. That has one of the funniest scenes in a 'serious' slasher film that I have ever seen.

*rewind* HAHAHAHAH!!! *rewind* HAHAHAHAHA!!!! *rewind* ...

EDIT: Just a heads up - the Sci-Fi channel will show H.P. Lovecraft's Dagon on Saturday, March 1st.

NETWORK TV PREMIERE: H.P. LOVECRAFT'S DAGON

A pair of shipwrecked lovers seek refuge in a coastal fishing village in Spain only to find themselves terrorized by local residents who worship a murderous sea monster and its hideous offspring. This powerfully atmospheric horror feature, based on the H.P. Lovecraft stories "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" and "Dagon," was directed by famed Re-Animator helmer Stuart Gordon, with a script by Re-Animator co-writer Dennis Paoli.

Airs Saturday, March 1, at 9PM ET/PT

Its not really a true horror film but I like Lance henriksen in "the hatchet man"....you have to watch that film twice to get it.

i miss those old 70's 80-s horror anthologies.
the oldest one i remember is The Asylum with Peter Cushing from 1972. synopsis:
Tying together four inoffensive, yet chillingly satisfying tales, ASYLUM takes its source from Robert (PSYCHO) Bloch, who previously collaborated with Amicus on THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD (1970). The wrapping segment introduces us to a young psychiatrist, Dr. Martin (Robert Powell) who goes for a job interview at an asylum run by the wheelchair-bound, humorless Dr. Rutherford (Patrick Magee). Rutherford tells the young protégé that in order to be eligible for the position, he must examine each of the four patients and discover which is the real "Dr. B. Starr," the former administrator who went mad and is now an inmate.
that and those Hammer Horror films

Yeah Hammer films are great, and Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were a good combo.

I love Dracula has Risen from the Grave (only Lee).

Cannibal the Musical – one of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s (of South Park fame) early films.
I definitely recommend it. It’s absolutely hilarious…

But my top 3 favorites would still have to be:
1) Dawn of the Dead
2) Dead Alive
3) Evil Dead 2

Has anyone here ever seen this little Canadian slasher flick called "Black Christmas"? It was made in 1974 and most who have seen it say it's better than Halloween (if you can believe it). It's been out on DVD for a while now, but I still haven't seen it in any stores around here.

Ah, Dawn of the Dead. Longest... zombie... movie... EVER! And I haven't even seen the director's cut yet. :D

Did anyone see that documentary about horror films on IFC I believe it was? Intersting comments made by some of the film creators on that. I never looked at some of those movies as a comment on society at that time, but the message was there in a lot of them (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, etc.).
