Garbled sound on SS2 MVS

The soundtrack is garbled only during the continue countdown screen rest of game is fine. By "garbled" I mean it sounds muffled, incomplete, as if only a couple instruments are playing, and playing through a distortion box.


Guessing corrupt audio data on cart, hopefully not a problem with my CMVS...as other games play fine.

Any ideas for diagnosing / fixing this?

Start with cleaning the game and your mvs cart slot with some deoxit.
You can also start with an eraser on the cart edges if you don't have the deoxit.

If cleaning fails, then you can start desoldering the M1 and V roms and comparing them with the MAME set. I have a neo turf masters cart that had issues with music on the startup, changing its V1 chip fixed it. Thread to my cart issues:

Ok will do... main thing that worried me is that it could be a problem with my CMVS, but sounds like it's probably just the cart. Thank you
