That list in interesting, at least SNK was on there in the first place.
Most of the games don't belong though.

I love this one....
40. Dance Dance Revolution (Arcade, 2001)
2001? LOL, apparently these people don't know shit. The first us version of ddr was available 1999...Can't believe anyone who would get such an obvious fact wrong. They obviously didnt do their research. Most of the list is highly questionable anyway...however I love the mention of Secret of Mana....brings back probably the only good memories I have of middle school, lol.

Well at least they picked a good SNK game, no 100 list is gonna make everyone happy. But IGN put only one SNK game in, Baseball Stars for NES spock

It seems like they tried to balance 4 things:

(1) Quality (hence Zelda: LTTP, I like that pick as number 1)
(2) Popularity (the Sims)
(3) Landmark status (Doom, Civ II)
(4) New and old (that was a bad idea... sorry, Tennis 2k2 shouldn't be there)

I only have a few problems:
- where's Super Mario 1 or 3??? Christ, those were landmark.
- Sim City as #37? It should be top-20
- Populous: the mother of all God games is missing (and it was "PC Game of the Year" when it came out)

That list is such a joke on so many levels I don't even know where to begin.

It figures though, since all Entertainment Weekly is ever full of is crap anyway.

i think its just trendy to have zelda lttp as number 1 nowadays. you see it all over.

for number 1 game of all time you'd think it could hold my interest longer than say, game #64.

They put Halo over Super Metroid?! I'm a big Halo fan, but no way it belongs over Super Metroid.

I don't agree with this list either. But you know this list is probably based on Popularity and sales.

At least Doom outranked Sims. Thank God...

But only 1 SNK game?

These lists come from the buttholes of marketing types everywhere... Its crass but hey.

I totally agree, this list is totally flawed. How dare they not mention Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, more Super Mario games, or more SNK games. very_ang This list is definitely better than IGN's but I still don't like this one. I just copyed this list directly from the magazine. mad_2
