I don't see Playmore releasing LB3 because it didn't perform well in any country, according to SNK. It flopped big in the U.S., Europe, Japan and most importantly, the Hispanic countries.

Garou 2 would be a possibility only because of the Mexican market, since it did fairly well there. All other markets, didn't respond too well to MOTW.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Man....people are nutz. Last Blade 2 and Garou are in my top 5 2d fighters of all time. ::sigh::

That's the only way you'll ever get new releases. The ngpc is not a financially viable system for them. I'm positive Playmore would be scrambling to release new games for ngpc if they thought they could make money out of it.

Good news about the SNK vs Capcom release tho!! :D </strong><hr></blockquote>

would it really be that easy to comission the hardware?
heh.. had to ask...

That's simply awesome. More and more titles for our loved Neo.
Anyway, my next new purchases for the Neo are going to be KOF2002 and SNK vs CAPCOM, two fighting games. The lack of variety is still the weak point of the Neo. Let's hope that Playmore notice it and try to develop some new original games.

Easy? Probably. Cheap? No.

In my experience with the game industry, you can basically have anything you want provided you have the money to make it happen.

If there was a KoFR3, then I'd be more than willing to bet there's a price that could make it yours.

As far as commissioning a game goes, I'm not sure about the development cycle of a NGPC game, but if it were say a PC game, you're looking at anywhere from 6 to 8 figures, depending on size and scope.

A NGPC game would probably have a smaller team, shorter production time and therefore a smaller price tag, but believe me...no matter how many pennies a CD costs, games are not cheap to make.

Well, you don't need a team to commission a game.

All you need is the cash. When you commission a company to do something they use thier people or a portion there of to make the game for you.

Sort of like a patron of the arts would commission an artist to do a painting or a sculpture.

If you want to use your own team you don't need anything, just go ahead and make it. There are forums and websites on developing for the NGPC with a lot of helpful information.

Here's a starter, <a href="http://www.devrs.com/ngp/" target="_blank">Devrs.com</a>.

Good Luck.

A piece of advice, though feel free to ignore it...most people do :) , a fighting game is a little ambitious for a first project. There's a lot of coding, animating, asset conversion, game play balance issues...there's a lot.

The best suggestion I can give is start with something that exists, so you can skip some of the larger portions of game balance (because let's face it...if it takes you 4 months to make a game, you want to make sure it's 'playable' not only in the technical sense but in the figurative sense...that it's worth playing) and some fairly intense AI programing that a fighting game would require.

Maybe something like Black Jack or Craps.
Depending on the skill of your programmers you might want to try to do a Casino game with some more AI dense games such as Poker done as Video Poker (no other players = no AI).

If you have some real experienced people, maybe something like a shooter or a platformer, simple game play balance an AI (comparatively).

But like I said, feel free to ignore it, you may already have the finest ASM programers available for all I know, I just have to more or less assume it's an traditional homebrew team that might not quite be ready for something like a fighting game.

Like I said, just trying to offer up some advice from my very very humble experience :) .

Again, good luck.

we actully started planning it around a year and a half ago,and have been doing it since then.

as far as development goes, only the main story mode seems to be in place(data wise, atleast).it's only a matter of getting our hands on the hardware so we can transfer the data.

Blaine, i guess we can put a dedication on the game for you guys.=]
thanks, again...
