Does anyone else do this to their sticks?

As we all know, the balls on the original Neo joysticks all crack over time. It doesn't have an effect on how it feels or plays, so it's ignored by most. However, I dug out my old NES Advantage stick, and was pleased that the balls were the exact same size and dimensions. So, I swapped 'em, and now I have a stick with no cracks.

Anyone else do this?

You cannot do that to a original SNK stick, because it will become a fake converted NeoGeo stick(and Chimpmeister will harass you about it being a NGF stick).

Blah blah blah, hippies

It's aesthetically pleasing! I actually do several things that would technically drive the price of my collection down, but I don't care too much because I want to do them and I don't plan on selling anything.

Example: I have several Japanese MVS games, and I put white VCR labels with the English name printed on them over the original Japanese label. Yes, this makes my legit carts look like cheap bootlegs, but dammit I know which one is Samurai Shodown 3 and which is Real Bout now!

As long as you put the original ball back on when you sell the stick no prob. Now about the MVS labeling I not sure if those VHS labels cause permanent damage once you remove them. I myself use the sticky part of a large post-it note to label my jpn carts - that way I can be sure that if I decide to sell it, removing the sticker won't damage the cart.

But if you don't plan on selling them anyway you might as well paint them pink if it pleases you...

ROFLMAO,

Liquid, He just loves playing with his "balls". You know, making sure they aren't "cracked". Hell if they are you can just switch it for a new one. I thought you knew that?

Nah, don't do that Bobak. I'd think that would look sorta tacky. Once you've seen the same label a few times, it gets recognizable (I can easily tell my Taito F3 carts of "Akkanvader" & "Gekirindan" apart, even if the labels are in Kanji).
