Disarming an opponent

Can someone explain how you can disarm an opponent in Last Blade (1 or 2)?

Furthermore, which moves remain useable when unarmed (I know none of the supers are visible)?

You cannot disarm an opponent in Last Blade.

hit shikyoh while he's throwing his blade & he can be disarmed, doesn't seem to work in part 2

That's true. I think Shikyou is the only exception.

You cannot disarm anyone in Last Blade 1 and 2, save Shikyo in LB 1, as Evil Wasabi said.
YOu must be thinking of Samurai Shodown where it's possible to disarm an opponent under certain conditions.

I made Yuki lose her staff.. no shit.

its just a guard break.

wtf, just tried in practice mode, set her to guard constantly, and I couldn't get it to break.

She had no staff, I swear, I've disarmed zantetsu before also when I owned the homecart.

he picked it back up with no delay..

I was awake too.

I played through with shikyo, level 4, and gave him constant abuse, and some of my DM 'powa'.. sure enough, his sword span from his hands, embedding its shiny length in the soft rusty leaves we battled on.

It looks like a Guard Crush does the trick. Can anyone confirm?

My friend swears that once in Samurai Spirits (the 3DO version I believe), his sword BROKE.

This happened after locking swords with his opponent, after breaking away his sword exploded, and for the rest of the round he was swordless.

It never happened to him again.

Anyone else ever had that happen?

My friend said the same thing, but he also said that SNK is pronounced SINK, and he is a lieing sack of crap who doesn't know shit about SNK/Playmore but heresay.

don't worry kern you're not tripping
i've managed to knock akira's pole out of her hand at least 5 times since i got the game,also i knocked shikyoh's weapon out of his hand once as well.
i usually use kaede and use his 5 hit high to low then triple slash combo and lots of 2 in 1's and 3 in 1s and also the d.m power move.
you can really kick the shit out of them with no weapon.especially when it flies over the other side of the screen
