Capcom and Koko Enterprises form a joint company
The two firms will focus on the development of network games.
Capcom has announced that it will form a joint company with South Korean animation company Koko Enterprise. Tentatively named Koko Capcom, the Seoul-based joint company will focus on development of network games. Koko Enterprises will own 51 percent of the shares in the new company, and Capcom will own the remaining 49 percent. Koko Capcom will be established later this month, and it is expected to have a capital fund of 1 billion yen and a staff of 30.
According to the press release, "The new joint company is a collaboration between Koko Enterprise's expertise in animation technology and Capcom's strength in software development. Together, [Koko Enterprises and Capcom] will aim to establish [themselves] in the Korean game market and break new ground to deliver the best software in Korea."
The companies did not mention whether the network titles will be developed for a specific gaming console or the PC platform.
