Can someone recommend DS or 3DS games to play?

Ouendan 1 and 2 are great rhythm games with cute stories. Fantasy life for 3ds is a quirky and fun Arpg. Final fantasy tactics A2 on ds is a flawed yet enjoyable successor to the GBA original. The combined libraries of the two systems is so massive you're bound to find a few gems.

If you're still looking for 3DS games, one that I really liked and was the first one that I bought for the 3DS is Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars.
It's not really a pick up and play game but it's a very good strategy game with some RPG bits.
I'm not a big fan of strategy rpgs but this one was really fun to play with a lengthy campaign (around 30 hours) and some bonus missions at the end.
You can probably find it for cheap now.

I have. It's fairly convenient and saves like it should. The only thing with my revision is that it only reads the first 300 games regardless of how many you have on the card

Do you have to install the bootleg firmware to run on DS/3DS?

I'm not a fan of stylus games, not at all. Especially if it's mixed with button controls, like the messed up Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion 3DS game. Would be a great game without those annoying interrupting stylus scenes.

Nevertheless, I had a lot of fun with the stylus controlled Anno 1701 DS and Theme Park DS games.
It has to be done right. I am a fan of Brain Age 2, as it's different enough to be engaging. I didn't like the two Zeldas on DS mainly because the entire game was based on the touch screen, plus the repetition of going back to a central dungeon over and over again

I use to collect DS/3DS pretty hard a few years ago. I know a few oddities, and am familiar with some of the common good games as well.

Some Oddities:
Solatorobo: The Red Hunter (a must play)
Little Red Riding Hoods Zombie BBQ
Retro Game Challenge
Super Princess Peach
Ghost Trick
999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors.

Others:
Phoenix Wright series
Professor Layton Series
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (a must play)
River City Tokyo Rumble
River City Tokyo Beatdown
Castlevania Dawn of sorrow, order of ecclesia,
Outrun 3D (digital only)

RPG's: (will lump these here to save you the time if you can't play them)
Dragon Quest IX (a must play)
Dragon Quest IV, V, VI
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy III
Radiant Historia
Etrian Odyssey Series
Rune Factory IV

I can think of a lot more, those are just off the top of my head. I'm sure I missed some really good stuff.

When I had one I just installed whatever was the latest driver or firmware and it worked without any issues. The Sky 3ds works well also. Having to use the button to switch games is annoying but still does the job.

Damn, this list has made me want to bust out my DS. Nice list!

I got the DS function working fine, now I need to try 3DS, but I need some 3DS ROMZ but they're more scarce.

Just hack your 3ds. It's very easy, and I think you just need like a 2 dollar game if I remember correctly.

Then you can find .cia files anywhere.
