Can someone please give some tips on how to beat the level 4 boss in Pulstar?

I've watched vids and for some reason when I try to do what they're doing, the boss's attack pattern differs and I have no clue how to even survive much less do damage!

This game is amazing but tough as nails for me right now...

Haha KP with the tease, surely he knows. GL man I suck at this game and it really wasnt for me so I sold my copy a while back.
