The lighting conditions were perfect for some outdoors, no-flash photography, so I took this figure out for a "desert" photo shoot early this morning. Whilst I was happily clicking away, a police officer felt the need to drive over and find out what I was up to. Now, to be fair, there has been a string of vandalism in that general area in recent weeks, but it's a public trail system and I wasn't doing anything even remotely suspicious/illegal. The only logical conclusion that one can come to is that the police are prejudiced against Cactuars (one probably 1,000 Needled him at a traffic stop or something when his shift began). In my opinion, the real crime was the officer's lame "Are you trying to put Humpty Dumpty's wall back together?" joke (I was using the sandy remnants of a crumbling cement foundation for the shoot). Har-de-har-har.

These three were all entries for a Robots/Cyborgs themed contest at Figure Realm.com. They've been done for a while, but I wasn't allowed to show them on other sites until the contest concluded.

Awesome stuff.

I'm continually amazed at the small scale of the figures you build.

With our lovely state becoming a movie making machine:loco: please tell me you're trying to explore commercial opportunities!

You've got a tremendous talent for modeling and if you could get a job doing something you love...you'd have me beat. Not that that's a difficult task to begin with:mr_t:

Synbiosfan: I contemplate it from time-to-time, but, no, I haven't seriously tried to pursue a career in sculpting. I do it primarily for fun and sharing online.

Here's another one I finished yesterday, an Evil Clown from Dragon Quest/Warrior II:

rarehero: Glad you liked the Evil Clown. I'm working on another Dragon Warrior/Quest monster sculpt right now--it's close to finished, but I just bought 14 video games yesterday (including KOF '06), so that's going to hit my productivity like a sledgehammer. :P

I generally don't take requests for sculptures, as they take a lot of work to make, plus, I've got a huge list of characters in my own mind that I'd like to do someday.

Terry330/Lord Wolfgang Krauser: Happy that you liked ol' Chuck--he's a figure I've wanted to make a for a long time and finally got around to sculpting. I enjoyed the game as well, and I think he's one of the better video game characters designs ever made.

yea. I was just throwing that out there.
personally I wouldn't know what I'd request if I had the opportunity to.
there's too many characters in the dw franchise to choose form.

Yeah, there are tons of Dragon Quest monsters, even when you consider that many of them get re-used from game-to-game. When I look through my monster archives for any RPG series that has had many sequels, like Final Fantasy, it's always a "where do I even start?" kind of thing.

That joker is bar-none the coolest thing I've seen you post, imho of course.

That chair and whole room scene from Castlevania makes my head spin. As Lagduf said, the small scale of your stuff and the detail put into each piece is remarkable to say the least.

Kudos brother!

Needler WIP (PS3/Xbox 360/PC: Silent Hill - Homecoming)

I sculpted the legs yesterday and the arms this morning--both are still subject to some additional revision. The body shown is NOT going to be used in the final figure, it's just an extra torso I had lying around from a casting/molding experiment that I used for a mock-up to give a rough idea of what the final figure's proportions will look like.
