Yeah, Trunks, what was your source? I was just looking around on the 'net last night for funky stuff like that and couldn't find anything.

I was wondering if there are any arcade systems which work in a similar way like the MVS does? So far I know of CPS2 and TAITO's F3 system.... Are there any others?
Are these any good?
If I had the cash I would get a naomi board although the games that come out there I hear people would rather get the DC version.

I got Martial Master from a NYC operator, who has great contact in Asia and he gets really cool stuff. BTW, The game is from IGS and not PGM. IGS makes Knights of Valor 1 and 2 and the recent shooter DoDonpachi 2: Bee Storm. I don't think he is into mail ordering to home users though, as his business is for the arcades. He does monitor these boards, so if there is enough interest, he might start selling it here, but I can't speak for him.

IGS PolyGameMaster (PGM) System:
Chinese game system, featuring a mainboard and a cartridge and looks very much like the Neo Geo MVS System. As no other country versions exist there are no compatibility problems. Mainboard houses a battery for Highscores.

System should come with a connector cable (and Cable-End to Jamma adapter) for 2nd cabinet. This way u can play with 4 players on 2 machines using only one PGM System and only one cart. Without it only 2 player play is possible on one machine.

Known games: Knights of Valour, Knights of Valour Super Heroes, Knights of Valour 2, Y2K, Oriental Legends, Martial Artist, Dragon World 2+3, Dodonpachi 2. Expensive!

Knights of Valour 2 is an expensive little fucker at $325, excl shipping. Dungeons & Dragons is much more accesible at 'only' $185, for the game + motherboard.

What's your opinion on both these games? Worth purchasing? I have a SuperNOVA that's terrible underused!

This IGS PCM or whatever it's called looks like it has some very good games. I wish I could find one here...

I wouldn't count ebay as regular prices. I saw Knights of Valor go for 3 times it's street price. Alot of people don't really know how much these games really go for, so you end up with people being ripped off on ebay.

My friend got a Knights of Valour cartridge + motherboard for $185 . . . not too bad. The PGM system is very powerful, looks VERY much like the Neo 1-slot mini and cartridges are very similar. Kinda like an update Neo MVS system, made almost 10 years after the debut of the Neo . . .

hey!
first i wanna say thx for giving that much attention to my page.
second someone asked about the kov games...they are pretty good. depending what u like. kov series plays much like D&D without the phantasy background. instead its chinese hero-history. if u like it its very good. if u dont u will find D&D better. i personally like D&D and KoV a lot. one can never have too many good beatups, no?!

-KoV is the first game, featuring big sprites, and very long gameplay. its about chinese history, where a few heroes free china from the evil ruler (much like Warriors of Fate). actually i think some programmers that did WoF helped developing KoV. Similarities are many, but KoV is of course better. It plays much like D&D...magic, itembutton, comboes and our beloved feature "loads-o´-traps" TM

-KoVSH (Super Heroes) brings more characters to chose from. now u can even play evil bosses (some, not all). its rumored that kovsh has 2 additional hidden levels, but dont ask me how to get there. as i mentioned secrets are very hard to discover. apart from that its the same game.

Kov(+KoVSH) feature the best animated and most insane levelbosses i ever saw in a hor. beatupgame. much!!! better than D&D. final endboss is VERY HARD to beat (creditmuncher) but also totally fascinating animated. VERY GOOD WORK from IGS! Dont think u can beat endbosses with simple buttonpushing (like D&D) or endless use of magic (like D&D). u will need skill and tactics or be prepared to lose many credits.

-KoV2 is the latest in the KoV series and when i first turned it on i was a bit dissapointed. smaller sprites i loved the big ones from KoV. also sound and background on first level were quite...hm....normal id say. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! when i got into 2nd level and further my dissapointment was gone in a second...WONDERFULLY drawn backgrounds, GREAT music and gameplay that rox supreme! IGS put even more secrets into the game (and a scrolling list - like in D&D2 - which ones u did/nt find...grrrrr). also features a bit more combos and more magic. characterdesign and final endboss is not so nice as in part(s) one, but everything else is grafically a bit better than the first part(s). again the single levelendbosses rock...great!

so...if u like D&D/+2 u should give the games a try! i dont think ull regret it. only drawback is the system and carts are expensive,as they come from china. but with dodonpachi2 i really hope the PGM will make its worldwide appearance. cant imagine IGS programms dodonpachi2 only for china...

I want a PGM. From what I have seen, it looks very cool. I am going to keep my eyes out for one.
