VERY creepy. Not only that, but the theatre kept having problems with the power going out during the storm that was going on. Altogether, quite an experience.

"The ring" is one of the scariest movies I've seen in a long time. I really can't put my finger on what was so frightening about the movie though. It has some very strange imagery in it. That video tape that supposidly induces deaths is one freaky work of art. I would have to say though, I wish the movie made more sense and, the ending left A LOT to be desired too.

Where did Anna get pregnant? Was it her husband? Cuz I remember hearing that Anna wasn't supposed to have any children...?!?
Another thing...Who made the tape? Your guess is as good as mine, but here goes my best effort to explain the whole thing:
I belive it was the Father that made the tape. He was happy at first with the booming business that his horse farm had, but when the strange horse suicides started, he cracked and took his daughter Samara out of the mental institution. The mother was glad to see the daughter at first, but she was having such a hard time coping with the downfall of their family business that she starting going crazy. I believe that Anna started to get confused about how a life that was so beautiful and fruitful at one time could go down hill so fast. Anna was probably confused evenmore about the unsolved mystery involving the horse suicides (which started the whole ordeal). Anna got so fucked over mentally that she lost touch with reality and started to think that her daughter was the cause of the horse suicides. The husband got so tired of hearing Anna bitch and moan about how Samara was the cause of everything that he decided to move Samara out to the stable to live with the horses. He made her a mock up room in the loft of the stable and she stayed their. The husband Richard Morgan could then tend to Anna a lot more with Samara out of the house. Well, of course Anna never really stopped thinking that Samara was the cause of the horse suicides so she eventually went ape shit and killed Samara by putting a bag over her head and dropping her into a well that was a good piece away from their house up in the mountains.
The reason I say Richard made the tape is simply because he had a fetish with electronics and water which conducted electricity. Thats how he died isn't it??? in the bathtub with the power strip over his shoulder...that was truly disturbing.
Draw your own conclusions, but I believe a sequal should be made without question.

I saw it last weekend. Very cool movie, I even jumped a few times. And the ending was great, which can't be said very often.
I do not think there should be a sequel though. There is no need for one, and would just demean this one.
The real reason I saw it was to see Naomi Watts again. She is such a killer actress, and usually I don't give a shit about actresses. I watched Mulholland Drive for like the fifth time last night too...I think I am obsessed with her. <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

My sister saw it and told me ALL about it because I hate scary movies...but it sounds so awesome...I must see it once I'm brave enough....

What I want to know is how did that girl in the beginning and Noah die? Their faces were like pale, yellow eyes, and mouth wide open.
Scared to death? I didn't know that could happen.
It was funny because the only part where people jumped out of their seats was when Samara came out of the TV and teleported right in front of Noah, everyone was like "AH!" lol. Good thing I had my ears covered the whole time to nullify those sudden booming noises, I HATE those so very much.
Anyway, so as soon as Samara looked up at Noah he screamed and then the movie cut straight to Rachel. I wish I could've seen how he died. He just screamed and that's it.

I'm just happy a real horror movie finally got the recognition it deserved. Hopefully more of these will come out, or be wide released. No more of the awful fake teen crap horror like scream, i know what u did, urban legend, ect.....
