I will probably grab this. It's perfect for GB, GBC and NGPC. 4" pixel perfect for those. Plus run ahead a couple frames in retroarch. (Chefkiss)

now, it's time for testing :geek:
How did this go? I have no idea why I need one of these, but if I buy one, it's either going to be Linux or LineageOS, so that choice would at least narrow it down.

If you search 4/3 screen, I think it's the best choice today.
Default front-end is a bit strange and can be changed, I advise Daijisho.
For better 3D emulation GammaOS (LineageOS) do the job, but will still be limited by the Unisoc T618.

RG405M is a perfect handheld for 2D games and you can use some shaders whitout really loosing bitrate.
But if you want specially play 3D games (Wii and more) wait for a faster CPU (for PSX it's OK).

Edit : and for Linux (GarlicOS)

Not tested my-self, but it looks promising.

There's so many of these nowadays, where do you even begin

They're somewhat specialized too. Based on what systems you want to emulate, etc.

For me, I don't care about Dreamcast or GameCube up. But I do like PSP and all the PSOne era and down. So the Retroid Pocket 3+ has the exact same screen ratio as the PSP, so I can play that library upscaled to at least 2-3X resolution. Which is badass. It also allows GBA to be nice and large. Plus everything before that runs like butter because it's powerful enough to use run ahead in most cases. So literally zero frame lag.

There are equally powerful ones out there with 4x3 screens which are excellent if that's your focus.

There's one that has almost the same screen ratio as GBA so it looks insane on that one.

This Powkiddy RGB 30 has a square screen and is perfect for GB, GBC, NGPC and Pico.

It's overwhelming.

Had this in hand a few days now and I really love it. I'm playing GB, GBC, GG and Pico-8 on it. Dedicated to those systems, and vertical arcade shmups. Which look and play amazing on this screen.

For under a hundred bucks, this thing is badass. Ordered some white Joycons to swap out with the black as well after seeing some peeps on IG do the same.

Meant to cop one of these. It looks awesome. Do they make a case for it?
