mvsholic,

hmm. that's interesting. i brought this ms3 thing up because i asked the rep why ms3 wasn't on there and he told me that the encrypted games won't show on the "neo ultracade." we'll wait and see if the code is really cracked.

I can't wait to see what MS4 is gonna look like, Hopefully it won't be insanely difficult like MS3.

Hmm... Metal Slug 4...

Like others, my wish would have been for a different title, but at this point I'll take whatever we can get.

As someone else posted, SNK just needs to bring in the money at this point, and the Metal Slug series is a big money-maker.

Capcom programming for the MVS?

Even if this game doesn't come out, how much you want to bet we'll be seeing $5000 "proto" carts popping up in the very near future?

Metal Slug 4?

Do we need another Metal Slug game?

Damn, I was crossing my fingers hoping for a Legend of Success Joe sequel.

They could have called it Legend of More Successful Joe.

Or just renamed the main character and call him Bob.

What are the tech specs on this encryption chip? I mean the Neo only has a 68000 as it's CPU. I just finished studying that processor, and it only has a 16bit databus and 32bit registers, it can't be that strong of an encryption routine...

These are not playing illegal roms though, the games are OKed by Capcom, Midway, and maybe soon SNK. If this is the case than SNK will provide un-encrypted versions of these games for the ultracade. Remember, most of those Capcom games are encrypted too!! But, Capcom has provided them legally to ultracade. There is no reason why this thing will not be able to play all SNK games in the future if SNK OKs it... encryprted or not it does not matter.

I highly doubt that Capcom or any other company is providing them with roms. It's much more likely that they modified mame added a custom gui and liscened the roms that were already availible on the net.

Still... if this is what it takes to get those neogeo games back into the arcade then so be it! I hope to see one in every arcade.

Great work, TRIEUMINATOR!

I was showing a friend (who works in a similar field) how our website is filled with the latest news and info and supposedly "dead" system and -whammo- I opened straight to your excellent report: Proof Positive that the Neo is still alive...Somehow, someway, but still alive
