Hi:
I have a 6-slot neogeo, and after a current overflow due a lightning strike near my location, the video goes crazy

1- The first screen in the hardware test, the one that show the white squares, shows
DCDCDCDCDCDC
BABABABABABABA

filling all the screen, instead the squares.

2- The Soft dip, I can't read the options that has numbers
ie:
KOF2002 Dificulty
Instead of 1..8 appears q-r-s-t-u-v-w-x

I've already changed the BIOS, but always the same...

Could Somebody help me to fix this.

Beforehand thanks.

I'm not a super-technical expert here, but from the sounds of it, I think your video ram is fried. There was a similar thread about this where the neo was displaying the wrong text.

If it is indeed the video ram that is fried, it can be fixed but not easily. You'll need to locate a new chip and have the means to surface mount it on the mobo.

Good luck!
Peace,
Bill

sorry to hear that

A good surge protector is on all my cabs.

Maybe mainman could fix it for a fee?

The video ram is definately dead, most likely both the cxk5814 and cxk58256 video ram got fried, you need to replace them.
