Hey guys, I work as a 3D artist and a while back I had a bit of spare time and decided to model my beloved AES.

I haven't gotten around to finishing it off, but you can see that the legwork has been done. I need to make a few adjustments to the sticks, add the actual cables from the sticks, fully model the game cases (they're just basic rounded boxes) and maybe even do a cart or two. Look close in the second picture and you'll see I made sure to get the exact number of holes in the s-video and AV-out ports.

Looks really great.

I remember someone a few months ago, modeled a AES Cart in 3D. Perhaps you could save some time and use his?

Looks awesome man - I could hang that stuff on my wall.

One minor complaint about the AES model though. The front of the AES looks a little bit thick. Maybe you could make it taper down a little bit more, so that the front (where the controller ports are located) panel is a little more narrow.

Easily fixed.

Got a link to a picture of it by any chance? The only reason I never got around to doing one is that I've had a bugger of a time finding a label to put on a cart! I'm a stickler for accuracy and anything else would feel second rate. Also I much prefer to model my own things as you don't learn anything by taking the easy way out, and there's the knowing in the back of your mind that it isn't your own work.

Programs used - 3DS Max 6 with Brazil (http://www.splutterfish.com).

Also not really Neo related but since we're all gamers, I did two other consoles as well for a laugh -

Nice job there Nick, looks like a shitload of booleans. With the label, did you have to scan it in yourself or were you able to locate it on the web?
