Motor Toon Grand Prix 2 is really quirky,
Kula World, too. Then there's
The Adventure of Little Ralph, quite a good platformer, just as
Tomba! &
Klonoa, which are even better. The second one and the latter is from Namco and that brings me to their 6 volume
Namco Museum series, full of gems to discover or re-discover.
Castlevania Chronicles &
Strider are splendid action jump'n runs.
Ray Tracers is an enjoyable arcade-style racer, the more you relax your grey cells here, the more fun you'll have. It's Taito, so somehow it's connected to the Ray-Trilogy
.
The STG department is splendidly constructed, I'll just repeat...
Einhader,
R-Type Delta &
G-Darius are all great 2.5D titles. For a tad more 3D-ish experience, you go with
RayForce &
RayCrisis. For a full-fledged 2D wunderkind, you go with
Gradius Gaiden,
Raiden,
In the Hunt & the
R-Types.
The outer edge is inhabited by such eccentrics like
Gaia Seed, with it's excellent soundtrack by Ishikawa out of Touhou fame, though the game itself is on an indie level at best. It's done by the obscure Techno Soleil, who also did
Tall: Infinity, a puzzler. Check that out, too. Then there is everybody's darling
Harmful Park, which is extraordinary in everything.
Right, and as a dessert, give yourself a bit Laser Disc goodness and try
Time Gal/Ninja Hayate and/or
Thunder Storm/Road Blaster for a size. Can't go wrong with these packages.
That said, enjoy!
On a side note:
Wonder 3 has just got to be the package you look after, since it offers 3 games in one: an action jump'n run, an STG
and a puzzle game. Maybe you missed it on the Saturn, check it out on the PS then.
