Just 40 a week; my department of the company isn't an earner so there's no opportunity for overtime.
To all of you who work the long hours: do they give you rope? As in, do they allow you to surf at work and give you time off for personal matters, like being at your homes for repairmen and appointments?
Yeah, the company itself is pretty flexible...unfortunately my direct manager is not as flexible :/
But I can (and have) worked from home quite a few times. But at the same time, even though they have these cool features in place...you can't really utilize them too much as there is an unspoken expectation to be there in the office and to work certain hours.
but one cool thing is that it's a european company too, so I feel they are more generous w/ vacation time than american companies i've worked for in the past...though there are basically 4 months a year that they don't allow time-off (unless its an emergency).
Yea, the US really gets fucked in the ass on vacation time compared to the rest of the world. Europe gets 4+ weeks, right? US gets 2. So our GDP is actually lower.

I count work as the time from which I wake up and engage in morning rituals for the specific purpose of going to work to the time I actually return and step foot over the threshold at home. Which is basically the time out of your daily life that you devote specifically for work and work related issues.
12 hours a day.
Where I work, the internet is more tightly filtered than it is within the boundaries of the average totalitarian state.
