I am now very happy with the Japanese version, which looks 100% better than the english.

The english Insert looks soo bad, as the art on the front panel & back panel clash.

This Japanese version's panels look like the art was designed to go together.

Thats all I see in the English, just plain sad.

English insert has wonderful back panel art.
However,
It balances poorly with front panel art.

The Japanese insert, although missing that nice piece, it's artisticlly balanced, & overall pleasing to the eye.

The spine is good, & I like the SUN logo much more than that shark fin breeza one.

Actully, it looks like a complete ametuer cobbled together the english insert.

One good piece of art, totally overshadowed by poor design.
An professional would probably get demoted for such a childish effort.

Now as far as the jap insert being bad because it doesnt have that art.
1st of all, its in the manual, so we miss nothing.
2nd, The art existing on it is good in its own right.

Unlike the english, where you have art that we have all seenn before.
The Jap back panel art actully has NEW art.
That goes along way to making it unique, & very good in its own right.

HaHaHa... I love this community....
I think the artwork on the back of the US insert SAVES the English Insert BUT their is an imbalance...bewteen front and back
The back of the JAP insert DOES have that balance with the front BUT the JAP FRONT & BACK make the jap insert a "pale" or less than professional presentation..(Does'nt stand out)so I would have to side with the English insert...

FTL i know you love your US games, but the English insert clashes way too much when looking at the front and back. The jap insert is a lot more pleasing to the eye. I know you guys like the nadia pic too, but with most of the back of the english insert clear because of that pic, it looks trashy.

Just my opinion.

There are nearly no differences between a scan an the real insert (as much as what is needed to be seen to compare with the both version).

The us version exists only because Shawn ask it.
Only to avoid losing any collector that want a "us" collection.

If you ask me the insert is not nearly as good as Metal Slug 3's. It looks way too cartoony. Both are also missing the meg counts. What the Hell is the meg count anyway?

I think the most important aspect of the insert is the spine. On newer releases, I generally prefer the Japanese version in this department. The NEO GEO and Playmore logos go very well together the Japanese text looks more professional than the English equivalent. Looks like I will be getting the Japanese version again as I did with KOF2001.

Gotta side with Nick on this one. No one with even half an interest in print design would pick the English insert. All the Neo US inserts are ugly as shit, because they let monkey's design them.

Why anyone would pay more for something uglier, I don't know.

I don't know why US companies don't just use the Japanese artwork for games, it's almost always better. In the case of the Neo, it IS always better.

You're not alone man, I think the English insert is way better... Besides, at least Brezza had something to do with the making of the game... The Sun logo being on there is no different than an NGF logo to me, they're just a company nobody gives a shit about that aided in the release of the game (only Sun was authorized..)

Whatever, I think the English insert is great, I think the Jap insert is great too, but I prefer the English insert way more. It actually kinda makes me want to buy the game...

Eh, it doesn't make me want the game badly, because I know it can't be better than Slug 3, but I do think it's a really nice insert.

How is the art on the back of the Jap insert new? It's clearly on one of the fliers on the same page... I wouldn't call that new. I hate to say it, but that's also a weak point... Even if it was new, that doesn't make it better than a piece of art we've seen before that happens to be awesome. Besides, for all we know the art that's on the back of the Jap insert could be in the English manual. I'd bet dollars to donuts it's in the English manual... Does that now mean the art isn't as good, because we've "seen" it before?

Also, how can people defend an insert with that huge ass white box on the back, covering at least a fifth of the insert? That's also a very NGF-like move, and it looking back at it makes it look really ugly... The English insert has the superior art, and the same text while not covering it up with a huge white text box. That's unprofessional if you ask me...
