Shawn got the new AES systems for 200 each? Pocket games for 3 each?

I just heard from a reliable source, close to Shawn, that Shawn told them that he got the new AES systems for 200 each! And the pocket games were 3 each!

If this is true, then god damn, his initial 500 price would have been a 250% price jack, but 800? That means he made 600 off each system...

And I'll say right now, I'm not going to rat this person out, but rest assured it is a VERY reliable source, so this is more than likely true (or else Shawn was just bragging about how cheap he got them to sound cool).

Hell, he could be undercutting himself on what he could possibly make off these systems by ebaying them, selling them slower, or whatever.

Well I have heard alot of great talk for Jeff K's conversions, so you make the decision.
To be honest, I don't think anyone can convert better then him.
I am opposed to conversions myself.
I said I LIKE neo games in their natural state.

And as for them meaning "little to us gamers," well, I am a gamer, and they have definitely impacted my buying habits. There are games that I've waited years to own but couldn't because these people are always the first to pay top dollar for games, making good deals on neo goods really rare indeed. But I have been patient and every once in a while you get a good deal. Everyone else should do the same or get out of AES, because it is a COLLECTORS market now. The collectors dictate the prices.

If you want to get to the root of the problem, blame SNK for not making more copies of the rare games.

I understand price increase due to demand.

However I did not like the way this whole thing went down. I have no doubt that Shawn could have sold these on eBay for $1000 a piece (whether or not that transaction would actually complete would be another thing).

The Neo Store is, or was as it was my impression, NOT eBay. Mayhaps a place where prices were a little calmer...a retail place.

If you want to sell the systems for a high price...fine.

If you want to sell the systems for the greater good of your own store...fine.

You can't have the best of both worlds!
Raise the price, simply because you can! Yet keep people shopping at your 'store'...because you ARE screwing them.

If Shawn had released these systems at $1000, I wouldn't say THING ONE.

He saw there was a demand..saw that he could gouge the price and he did. He did not raise the price to recoup losses. He didn't raise the price because he had to. He raised the prices because he knew he could...and he didn't mind making HIS CUSTOMERS..okay...his customers dig a little deeper for something that they wanted.

As far as this site never asking for anything, I wasn't aware that by using this website I was beholding to Shawn.

No one is stopping him from putting up a banner.

Both of those circumstances occur by his own validition.

I've always said that I respect a lot of what Shawn does, BECAUSE he is a business man.

Why do you have to be jealous or say it's unfair. Work towards being rich, or making your own contacts if it's so important to you. Don't just whine and complain that things are too expensive, and expect someone to just lower the prices for you. Do something about it! It's a novel idea, but don't expect things to just happen cause you don't like them.
If you don't like it, play the neo another way. MVS stuff is pretty cheap. A used AES from Nikkie is cheap. I don't have money, so I built my own supergun and bought a cheap 4 slot. it plays my neo games perfectly. Bottom Line: You don't have to be into AES to be a neo fan.
It's simple, don't buy things from Shawn if you really think his prices are too high. If enough people do it, prices will go down. And if not, let the collectors buy from him, and you can go buy somewhere else.

Also, haven't you noticed that he owns the server for this site. He pays the bandwidth bills. He paid for the UBB code. Money doesn't just grow on trees, not even for rich people.

I'm not saying this because I like shawn, I don't even know the guy, or even conversed with him on the boards. I do know he keeps up a site I enjoy, and he seems to be making a hell of a profit on Neo stuff. Good for fucking him. It just pisses me off that people see this and complain about it, and not do anything about it. Not just here, it's the way most people in the country are acting about a lot of problems. Can' people do things for themselves anymore?
