I just got a CAPCOM stereo AMP and I hooked it up to my Egret II to play some SSF2x instereo, and to be honest, I did not noticed any difference. Well, the only difference was when you do Dictator's PC the sound starts on one speaker and ends in the other.

Everything is connected correctly. The amp is the one with the transformer 100v to 18v. I connected the black and the white cables from the transformer to the AC (N) and AC (L) of my Egret PSU.

The little F adapter, the one for stereo, had a different pinout,. I took the pins out of the molex and rearrange them for the Capcom amp R+, R-, L+, L-.

Then I plugged in the RCA cables from the AMP to the CPS2.

Next step was disconnecting the pin 10 and L from the jamma harness (if I left pin L in it would make a humming sound).

Last thing I did was set the CPS2 bios to Stereo and flip the switch on my cab to stereo and turn on my cabinet.

I really can't notice any difference from mono other than Dictator PC. The only CPS2 that I got is SSF2x. Is there any kind of sound test or anything to let you know if it's running Qsound or something? or if there any particular sound on ST that really take advantage of Qsound?

any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

The QSound screen plays a little jingle on boot. I would think that would be an excellent example of it?

If you get any sound at all where it's coming out of one speaker but not the other... that's stereo. Probably just SF2 is not the best game to illustrate qsound potential?

Curious: Is your SSF2X board OEM, Phoenixed, or a Conversion?

In any event, I like to think of Q-Sound like SURROUND sound through STEREO Speakers. So, if you're getting sound through the RCA jacks and the AMP then it's probably Q-Sound.

But, when working with Q-Sound, it helps to double check your test menu settings, volume settings, speaker placement, listening position, and speaker connections. (n1, n2, n3, n4, n5, n6.)
