I have locally found a final fight cabinet (with Jamma PCB board), that I would like to convert into a Neo Geo cabinet. I am assuming that I can take out the FF PCB board and plug in a 1 SLOT Neo Geo board. This should be "plug and play" correct?

The cabinet has a 2 joystick/2 button control panel. How easy is it to convert this CP to a Neo Geo CP (2 joystick/6 buttons). Is this something easy to do or would it require re-wiring etc.

How much time/effort/money,etc would be required?

I would like to understand all the pros/cons, before I decide to purchase the cabinet.

Thanks for any pointers!!

Take out the board and jamma harness and buy a fully wired jamma harness or add the extra wires you need to make it MVS board compatible. The 1 slot Neos are jamma compatible but you will need a harness that will supply the other 2 buttons.

Post some pics of the cab's CP.

Hey, I'm the other guy Adam sold the Neo conversion cab to. I got a voice mail with your phone number, but rather than try to desribe what i did over the phone it'll prolly be easier to show you with pics and what not here.

Here's a link to a post about my CP

Here's a button layout template:

For the holes you'll need a 1-1/8" hole saw. There's tons of options for you as far as restoring your CP, but what I did was remove all the buttons & sticks, strip all the old lamenant off, then redril new holes. My CP had a sheet of metal so I bought a new one and drilled the holes in that first, which also made a great template for drilling holes in the wood and Lexan. Some of my holes in the wood overlaped with old holes, but it isn't a big deal as long as there's two sides for the buttons to fasten to. After you have your new holes made and everything's all sanded down you can apply a new control panle overlay. I got one off Ebay. There are also websites than will print custom vinal decals you could use. Then it's just a matter of cutting the holes for the bolts buttons and sticks out of the decal, then putting it all back together again. For the clear plastic overlay most people use Lexan, but plexiglass will work too. If you go to Lowes they can also cut it for you, but you will need to drill the holes yourself. That stuff can be tricky to drill so I reccomend having the guy at Lowes cut a few panels to size out of the sheet you are buying, just incase. There are other threads about drilling lexan here if you serarch for them.

That's about all that comes to mind, post more questions here and I'll try to help.
