This is a poll to serve for all the fuckers that might be getting or have already purchased their DS Lite. Mainly I want to see how many people are FINALLY getting one that never thought 2 titties about the original DS (like me).

I chose "I own a DS and will get a Lite when it hits home." Assuming it comes out no later than early May (as rumors suggest).

But if they announce the Lite will be greatly delayed in the US, and the import prices fall to something more acceptable (i.e. under $170) then I might try to import one.

Sold the PSP, use the money to get a DS Lite & games/accessories, when it is released domestically. I can wait until May. Besides, it will give me enough time to finish off all the GBA and GBC Castlevanias in time before CV: DS. If were lucky, maybe we'll get a cool preorder deal domestically. Plus I want a domestic warranty and opt to return a defective DS Lite should it happen, plus a color of my choosing as well as a cheaper price and guaranteed compatibility (if there is any doubt) with the Rev.

Games I want to play:
Castlevania DS
Lunar
Trama Center
Children of Mana
Nanostray

I also still feel that Carts > Optical media, particularly with portable devices. I never got used to those UMDs, and how careful I had to be with them.

I think it's really hopeless to wait for the JPN version now.

This is what NCSX has to say about that:

Most of our suppliers have lost interest in the NDS Lite due to the problems in stocking them. We understand their position since it's unproductive to invest time and energy pursuing the vapors. Our preorders are still on reservation so we'll have first dibs on a chunk of Lites in the event Nintendo is able to ship larger supplies to market in the next few weeks. Our guesstimate is late March at this point.

I own a DS and I will probably be getting a Lite, really depends on whether or not I can get my friend to buy my current DS. Still not to happy about GBA games sticking out a decent amount from the unit, especially since one of the main reasons to get a DS is because of its aesthetics, meh.

My trusty local import store is hooking me up with a lite this week. That makes DS #3 for me and a dusty sad PSP. Maybe I will work up the courage to trade in the PSP for more cash.
