Admin./Modsquad:

You guys should seriously consider appointing a mod to look over the selling/trading forums. With all the clutter fuck that's going on in the marketplace,I think we can use some serious moderation right about now. The marketplace,as most of you may already know, is full of scammers/time-wasters/spammers. For example, I've just placed a selling thread under Everything Else earlier this morning, and before I knew it,this one fucktard had already shitted on my selling thread! What gives?

A good candidate for this position should NOT be a "power" seller, nor an individual who'd benefit/abuse his/her mod status for personal gain (ie,selling,trading,buying,services,etc.). One member that comes to mind is Bulletnyourass. He's a good guy with an impeccable track record, and I think he'd be perfect for the job. His Scammers/Time-Wasters thread is a good example of his willingness to help prevent fellow members from getting scammed/harrassed by fraudulent members of this site. I believe that he'd make a very good mod,and a fair one,at that.

Anyway,I think it's about time we have a marketplace mod. We need someone to look over the marketplace and clean up all the unnecessary BS that's polluting it.

I agree with BIG. I also second his nomination of Bulletnyourass. I've seen Phillip help people out on many occasions, and he has always been very professional in his dealings on the boards.

Good idea that would help out a lot.

I third the nomination -- Phil would be perfect. Besides the points mentioned above, he's also a nice guy.

What about TonK, didn't someone or he float that idea once? Or did he decline?

Hell TonK keeps shit in check, anyways.

Bulletinyourass is definately cool, and trustworthy in my book.

Phil would be great for the position. He's done a lot for the marketplace already.

I just STRONGLY suggest Southtownkid for ANY mod position, anytime and everywhere. I suggest to make him an all-around mod, actually, just as I always did with Takumaji.

This has been discussed in the moderator forum and at the moment there will not be any appointment of a Marketplace mod. Much of the problems are already addressed by the current mod team and if you find anything that needs dealing with please feel free to use the alert post feature or contact a moderator directly. If you think that simply appointing someone else to be a moderator will help with this, I tend to think it won't. Why? Because they'd have to read EVERY thread to be effective than the current mod team. I agree, Phillip would be great, but he is hardly online more frequently than the rest of us.

Regarding scammers, I fail to see the massive number of them around that people seem to think exist. When people contact the mods with a deal gone bad we address it as needed.

I see your thread Chai and the posts that have bothered you, and I agree. But there have been threads about this before with people commenting on fair price. It's the grayest of gray areas.

What do you mean by this statement right here? What exactly constitutes fair pricing,if I may ask?

And yes, I do think that having a mod with a neutral stance on things, especially one who would not benefit (again,a non "power" seller/trader/service provider, etc.) from his/her mod status would help keep the marketplace in check...but then again, that's just me.

It refers specifically to the thread TonK started a ways back about posting in threads about fair price. It means nothing about your prices slick, it means that people felt that if they didn't like a price or thought it unfair that they could post about it. That is a VERY gray area as was discussed previously, since it's largely opinionated. So while many may think a price is fair, some may not and feel it necessary to say so.

You won't find many unbiased people to moderate sales threads.

So,you're basically saying that it is okay to spam up selling threads, then?

I see both fair and unfair prices all the time, and as much as I'd like to comment on them,I let them be.

I don't see how it is a gray area. If you don't like what a sellers price is, ignore the topic. Otherwise, you can always PM the person and inquire about a better deal.

I think it also unfairly bumps topics ahead of other topics. There is nothing I hate more that just listing something only to have a topic bumped with spam.

HAHAHA!!! I'm here everyday!!!

It doesnt necessarily have to be me. There are other members here that would be just as vigilant. How about :

xtoo_short20x
SouthtownKid
Rotphungte
Lithy
GamersAbyss (Dont know if Sonny still comes around)
Broken
BIG ( Even though he would refuse the position)

However, there needs to be a level of ettiquette displayed in the selling forums (No one should post openly in anothers thread in a negative manner). I understand you guys (existing mods) already have alot of stuff to do ..BUT we need someone who can monitor the Market Forum on a regular basis. The selling forums have gone to shit and we all know it.

I did say "more often than the rest of us", meaning we patrol it as often as any wouldbe Market Mod.

Thread for your reading pleasure.

Note the results of the poll. I myself would only point out price problems in extreme/obvious cases.
