I purchased my first 480p widescreen set back in 2000 (40" LCD projection), and my first 720p (1280x720) widescreen set in 2002 (43" DLP). I'm currently using a 32" LCD panel as my primary display.

I'm a college student as well, I just prioritize...which is just an excuse for being lazy.

Quite nice my friend. ;)

Maple is the #1 finish in my book also. I wish I could have gotten my towers in maple.

Thanks! I didn't know if I would like Birdseye maple, but I gambled (since I bought this pair used from someone so I had to trust his pics/words). Turns out I love it! What speakers do you have?

Polk RTi8 towers and the previous model year center channel and surrounds. bottom right in the link.

They stopped making the maple finish for the current model year which pissed me off, I hate dark wood finishes so I settled for black/silver. Maple/silver would have been sechs.

Eventually I'm supposed to get B&W CDM series speakers.

Seriously man, let it go....creating countless threads about it just shows how much of a life you need....try getting laid or something.

Very nice, I like Polk alot too. I would suggest looking into Von Schweikert (in addition to B&W), I have read nothing but raving reviews on ANY VS speakers, they are quite pricey but then, so is B&W. I am definitely saving up now once true HD sound formats are out so I can get a nice receiver and replace the fronts/center (maybe in 5 years!).

I have an LG 26" LCD Widescreen TV. It can go up to 1080i. It's very impressive and I really like it.

I have a 50" LCD HDTV and no hdtv channels yet. It's been over a year. But my x-box looks fucking awesome on it. My DC SFIII3S looks like jaggypoop on it. PS: I'm drunk.

I only got a 28" widescreen that does the job fine. Don't have cable and only use retro consoles, so no real need for it.

Not enough $$$ to buy an HDTV.

I'm perfectly happy with my 32" Wega.

There should be an option for people who have an HD TV but aren't happy with it.

Voted yes.

I've had my 55' 16x9 HDTV for about 4 years now. (I bought it in 2001)

who gives a shit anyway?

All my consoles and my dvd players run thru rgb so why would I feel the need to spend a stupid amount of money on another tv when my 28" and 32" widescreens are plenty sufficient?

I'm in the same boat. I don't have any hate for people who have HDTV, but it's hilariously apparent that acem77 has a lot of disdain towards people who don't own an HDTV.

Look, it all boils down to the question, 'do I need it?'

If I walk to work everyday, do I need an automobile?
If I have a portable CD player, do I really need an mp3 player?
If I rarely watch movies at home, do I really need a DVD player?

It all boils down to how essential or dispensable these luxury items are to your daily routine. Just give it a rest, Spammaster acem77.

I also have a Denon 3802 receiver and a pair of Klipsch Reference RF 3-II's, but there not pictured above. I am getting ready to move to a much larger apartment and I will then have room to use them again.
