I just saw some new vids on the game and I'll admit I kind of forgot about it. Anyone have a tentative release date for the JPN PS2 port?

Just checked the Sammy homepage, and there's nothing listed in their 'home game' section.

There's a new Famitsu magazine coming out today, I can check the upcoming game listings, but I doubt there'll be anything about it there either.

:(

Thanks for the effort, I appreciate it even if it doesn't turn anything up.

Shame, what does no one care about this game or by chance is it doing so well in arcades that they don't want to port it yet?

I want it quite badly. I'd buy an Atomiswave, but I don't exactly have a spare $900 around for all that stuff.

KOF98 from ckchan must do for now.

I'm sure it's forthcoming, but they're being mum about it

I'm guessing around the time NBC is released we'll know about this game being ported and we'll finally see a screen shot or two of Sammy vs. Capcom

just my guess

And oh it will do fine for quite some time to come.

On KOF NeoWave, I haven't seen that game Stateside at all, at least on the East Coast. Any cabs out on the west coast?

I haven't really been hitting the arcades lately, so I'm not so sure how popular it's doing. beelze or RBJake will have to fill us in.

There's no word of a RumbleFish port either for what it's worth.

This is not true, a PS2 port of Rumble Fish was announced:

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/therumblefish/

About Neowave, since it is only an upgraded version of KoF 02 (a common practice in arcades, although this time it also means a hardware change) and that one has already been ported, I doubt they'll do the same with Neowave. For example SS0 was ported but SS0S was not. Of course this is just my guess and I could be wrong.

Finally, no port doesn't mean you can't own this game, bitches! Get the original arcade version and show the finger to TEH INFERIOR PORTS! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!111 :mr_t:

Really? I didn't see it listed in the Famitsu release schedule. That's cool though, I've been wanting to pick up a port of this for ages.

So yesterday I checked out the new Famitsu, and much as I expected, I didn't see a listing for KOF Neowave. Now bear in mind that Famitsu listed a Gamecube Metal Slug 4 port that disappeared from the list soon after, so I no longer take Famitsu as the Word of God. It is however useful as a rough guide of what's coming up in the near future, and here's what I saw in the latest issue yesterday:

These have all been announced before, but it was nice seeing them in the Famitsu. They're slated for 'sometime in 2005':

PS2 Mark of the Wolves
PS2 KOF 95-97
PS2 KOF 98-00
PS2 Gekka No Kenshi 1 & 2 (Last Blade 1 & 2)
PS2 'Metal Slug' (no number, it must be the 3D game)

There was another PS2 SNKP game with a name I'd never heard of, something like 'Tin Star Surprise' (it wasn't 'Twinkle Star Sprites' anyway). I'll have to check that one again.

Finally, slated for 'sometime in 2006' is (drumroll please) 'KOF Maximum Impact 2'
The first one did pretty badly over here, God knows why they want to release a sequel, but yet they do. There you have it.

Unfortunately on page 237 is a rumble fish preview. The date now says March 17th. I wish this game would disappear and never return :very_ang: :very_ang:

Looks like they added a gallery mode, a new original opening movie and a new character. Theres speculation that there is one more hidden character.

I will skip this game.

edit: Oops forgot, its on ps2!

Well, SS0S was only an update on the same hardware, but NeoKoF is another beast... it would be the first port of an SNKP-AW game to a home console, and I don't think Sammy and SNKP could afford it to let this chance slide.

Oh, if you'd paypal me some monies to stuff my inferior account, I'd gladly spend it for a superior AW kit! :) otherwise a port will have to do it for me atm.

exactly, there's money to be made, so I can't see SNKp and Sammy passing on this

I'm daft. It was 'Twinkle Star Sprites', I read the name wrong.

Terrible animation, bad play ontrol, if it was a G Darius Fighting game I would like it.

If I had to review it I'd give it a 2 out of 10. It's absolutely terrible.

Ehh... it's not that bad. Jake just really hates this game for some reason. The animation is a bit choppy, but I've still managed to have some fun with this.

When the port comes out I'm going to tie Jake to a chair and make him play it with me for hours on end until he starts to appreciate the Sammy goodness.

I'm assuming Rumble Fish 2 is coming to Atomiswave, I didn't know anything about it. I guess some info will surface after the loke.

When the ports released and more people play it the tide of the haters will grow.

I'd rather rub my skin off with sand paper than play this.

Akeome to you to dude.

I'd like to go to the test, but a) I'm a little too busy, and b) I'm not THAT much of a Rumblefish fan. Besides I'm pretty bad at fighting games so I'd probably just end up skewing the results of the test.

The balance issues in Samurai Spirits 0 are probably my fault.

ha~~~ the food corner in ikebukuro station has some marvelous pastery (plus those overpriced importedfruits). I bought a wonderful birthday cake there :)

The discounted flowers when the flowershop closes is really neat too if you want fresh flowers every now and then... dammit i miss the place :'(

err the thread was about neowave.... well same as rumble fish i wouldn t mind playing a port with some friends (arcades are now dead here) :)

edit: akeome to you all too (late though), and the thread was about neowave not rumble fish :P

The new character in the PS2 version of The Rumblefish is likely to be from The Rumblefish 2. Sites such as The Magic-Box are reporting that characters from The Rumblefish 2 will be included in the PS2 RF1 port, but no word on how many.
