A lot of us have been proposing a list, or shitlist if you will, containing all the asswafts that scam up our selling forums...

Perhaps we could do the opposite?

Maybe a much shorter list of reputable sellers/buyers + permanent fixures at this site. (I honestly can't picture someone like Fats, Flav, Jhendrix, etc pulling a fast one on the buyers....)

...consider the personal & CONFIRMED info we'd have to divulge to get on this VIP list; it would be fucking SUICIDE to scam then.

-Anyone oustide the list can only buy from those who are on it, and to not uphold your end of a bargain would be to have your ass blackballed in a way that the mods deem fit....

That's all I can think of.

Thoughts?

Perhaps a $200 entry fee for said participants.

That way, they do scam someone, there is a $200 protection in it for them.

I can't picture Fats pulling a fast anything... it takes him 20 hours just to turn around (he's nearly as slow as the Earth, and almost as massive.)

Perhaps not...plus I'm a pop icon, and a soon to be supermodel, so I wouldn't scam.

Hah, I wouldn't be a part of that Elite group then, I'm not shelling out any money just to be on a good trader list.

There just be an extra option when you click on someones name, maybe call it "Online reputation", and there would be the names of all the users he had good transactions with.

Say, everybody who traded with you, just contact the person in charge of this "Reputation" thing, and they will add your name to the persons list.

At first I thought this thread was about Differential Equations.

Basically, one can't really enforce much in regards to online transactions. Local Police are usually clueless about such affairs and don't have the resources to bother with them.

Paypal isn't much help in resolving disputes either.

My stance is that I only deal online with money that I can stand to lose. I wouldn't buy online with the intent of selling from a messageboard; EG I don't like to commit to sending funds to flakes on the net.

Now if one could invent a way to hex curses on people via email...

We don't need something like that, it would be overkill. The feedback forum is more than enough.

why not just set up an alternate board for sales and trading but shawn collects a comission on all transactions?

No, that's insane.

Also, why would Shawn risk directly involving himself with the high-profile scams/scammers? Such a setup would practically make him partially liable in the event of a scam, or at least make it seem as though he's obligated to resolve the situation.
