'''''KOF EVO''''' or '''''KOF Evolution''''' is a remake and port of ''[[The King of Fighters '99]]'' that was released for the Dreamcast in March 30, 2000 in Japan, and in North America in May 8, 2001. This game also is available in PlayStation 2, as part of [[The King of Fighters NESTS Collection|''The King of Fighters NESTS Collection'']], and for Microsoft Windows in December 22, 2000. Like it's predecessor, the game was never released in Europe. Like it's predecessor, the game was never released in Europe.

This game reunite elements from both [[The King of Fighters '99|KOF '99 Neo Geo version]] and ''[[The King of Fighters 2000]]'', released in July of that same year, and introduce the Special Strikers, an item that didn't exist in the original game. As a result, some characters of the roster ([[Vanessa]] and [[Seth]]), as well as characters from other franchises and originals that appear as strikers in KOF 2000, appear as special strikers in this game.

The changes from the original game include 3D stages and the addition of striker characters. In the Japanese version, the game is compatible with the Neo Geo Pocket/Dreamcast Setsuzoku Cable, which allows the player to transfer their points won in ''[[The King of Fighters: Battle de Paradise]]'' to speed up the leveling process for Extra Strikers. In this game, the version of the stages are selectable and separate.
